PULSE SUB+ is a wireless subwoofer that easily pairs with most Bluesound players in a FIXED Group. View a complete list of PULSE SUB+ compatible players in the Notes section of this article.

Wired
A wired connection to the network is simple and requires less setup. If you require a wired connection, connect the PULSE SUB+ directly to the router or home network using the Ethernet cable.
Android/iOS - Wired Setup
- In the BluOS Controller app, navigate to the Players tab and select the PULSE SUB+ under Other Devices, highlighting NEEDS SETUP.
- Select the required PULSE SUB+'s Hotspot* from the My Players Window.
- Enter the PULSE SUB+’s name (or room location name) and tap Continue.
- Wait until the All done! screen displays two options:

- Use Without Pairing – Select when you decide to pair later with the Bluesound player. The Players tab displays PULSE SUB+ as a separate player.

Start Pairing – Select the player to pair with, and tap Continue.
When the Pairing Complete screen is displayed, tap Finish.
Windows/macOS - Wired Setup
- In the BluOS Controller app, navigate to the Player Drawer and select the PULSE SUB+ under Other Devices, highlighting NEEDS SETUP.
- Select the required PULSE SUB+'s Hotspot* from the Add Player Window.
- Enter the PULSE SUB+’s name (or room location name) and click Next.
- Wait until the All done! screen displays two options:

Start Pairing – Select the player to pair with, and click Continue.
When the Pairing Complete screen is displayed, click Finish.
Wireless
A wireless connection lets you place PULSE SUB+ virtually anywhere in your home, but it requires a network setup.
Please follow the below instructions as applicable.
Android - Wireless Setup
- Launch the BluOS Controller App on an Android device. New Players Detected prompt is displayed – select Setup Now.
- If the prompt is not displayed, tap the Players tab in the bottom navigation drawer to launch the Players screen.
- Tap the Add a Player button in the upper-right corner.
- Select the PULSE SUB+’s hotspot* from the My Players window.
- Tap Choose WiFi Network and select the required WiFi Network.
Note: If the required WiFi Network does not appear or is hidden, select Custom SSID. Enter the SSID name and select the Security Method the network uses.
Optional: Switch on Save WiFi Password for a simplified future setup.
- Enter the WiFi network Password and tap Continue.
- Enter the PULSE SUB+’s name (or room location name) and tap Continue.
- Wait until the Setup Complete screen displays two options:

- Use Without Pairing – Select when you decide to pair later with the Bluesound player. The Players tab displays PULSE SUB+ as a separate player.

Start Pairing – Select the player to pair with, and tap Continue.
When the Pairing Complete screen is displayed, tap Finish.
The PULSE SUB +’s status indicator LED turns to solid Blue, indicating a successful connection to the WiFi network.
iOS - Wireless Setup
- Launch the BluOS Controller App on an iOS device. New Players Detected prompt is displayed – select Setup Now.
- If the prompt is not displayed, tap the Players tab in the bottom navigation drawer to launch the Players screen.
- Tap the Add a Player button in the upper-right corner.
- Tap Add Subwoofer.
- Select PULSE SUB+ to launch the Connect to Pulse Sub+ wizard.
- As illustrated in the wizard, press the Home button on your iPhone or iPad, open the iOS Settings, and tap Wi-Fi.
- Select the PULSE SUB+’s hotspot* from the available WiFi networks.
- Return to the BluOS Controller App. The Connect to WiFi screen is displayed.
- Tap Choose WiFi Network and select the required WiFi Network.
Note: If the required WiFi Network does not appear or is hidden, select Manual SSID Entry. Enter the WiFi network name and select the Security Method the network uses.
Optional: Switch on Save WiFi Password for a simplified future setup.
- Enter the WiFi network Password and tap Continue.
- Enter the PULSE SUB+’s name (or room location name) and tap Continue.
- Wait until the Setup Complete screen displays two options:

Start Pairing – Select the player to pair with and tap Continue.
When the Pairing Complete screen is displayed, tap Finish.

Pairing PULSE SUB+ with Existing BluOS Player
Prerequisites:

- Power on the PULSE SUB+
- BluOS player to be paired is powered on, connected to the network, and not in Standby Mode (play any audio).
- In the BluOS Controller App, select the Players tab or Player Drawer.
- Under Other Devices, select the Link icon next to PULSE SUB+.
- Select the player to pair with, and click Continue.
- When the Pairing Complete screen is displayed, click Finish.
Note: PULSE SOUNDBAR+ has a dedicated secondary WiFi module to automatically pair (WiFi Direct Connect) with PULSE SUB+ without using the local home network. WiFi Direct Connect provides a complete low-latency wireless sound experience even in a noisy network. BluOS Controller App, PULSE SUB+, and PLUSE SOUNDBAR+ should be upgraded to the latest software version to enable the WiFi Direct Connect feature.
Unpairing a PULSE SUB+
- In the BluOS Controller App, select the Players tab or Player Drawer.
- Select the Player paired with PULSE SUB+.
- Select the player’s context menu (3 dots) and select Audio Settings. The Audio Settings screen is displayed.
- Select Subwoofer, and the subwoofer menu is displayed.
- Select Unpair and select OK.
Notes
- Alternatively, you can connect PULSE SUB+ wired directly to any Bluesound players (with a SUBW OUT) using a Subwoofer cable (not included in the package).
- PULSE SUB+’s Status Indicator LED blinks Blue and Purple alternatively if PULSE SUB+ is connected to your network but not paired wirelessly with another Bluesound player.
