PULSE SUB+ is a wireless subwoofer that easily pairs to most Bluesound Players in a FIXED Group. View a complete list of PULSE SUB+ compatible players in the Notes section of this article.

Network Setup
Wired: A wired connection to the network is simple and requires no network configuration. If you require to use the wired connection, connect PULSE SUB+ directly to your router or home network using an Ethernet cable. PULSE SUB+ appears in the Player Drawer of the BluOS Controller App labeled 'NEEDS SETUP'. Select it and follow the on-screen prompts to name the SUB+ and check for a firmware update. For more information on establishing a wired connection for PULSE SUB+, refer to the Pairing PULSE SUB+ with your Existing Bluesound Player section.
Wireless: A wireless connection allows you to place PULSE SUB+ virtually anywhere in your home, but it requires network setup.
Please follow the below instructions as applicable.
ANDROID
- In the BluOS Controller App, open the Player Drawer by tapping the Rooms button
in the top-right corner of the BluOS Controller App.
- Scroll to the bottom and tap ADD A PLAYER to launch the easy setup wizard.
- Select the PULSE SUB+’s hotspot* from the Select Player window. The Choose a WiFi Network screen is displayed.
- Select the WiFi network from the drop-down menu.
If the WiFi network does not appear or is hidden, select Manual SSID Entry. Enter the SSID and select the network security type. - Enter the Password and tap OK.
- Enter the Player Name (or room location name) and tap OK.
- Wait for the Setup Complete screen to be displayed with two options:

- USE WITHOUT PAIRING – Select when connecting PULSE SUB+ to a player using wired subwoofer cable or if you decide to pair later wirelessly. PULSE SUB+ is displayed as a separate player in the Player Drawer.
- START PAIRING – Select the player to pair with and tap CONTINUE.
When the Pairing Complete screen is displayed, tap FINISH.
The PULSE SUB +’s status indicator LED turns to solid Blue indicating a successful connection to the WiFi network.
iOS
- In the BluOS Controller App, open the Player Drawer by tapping the Rooms button
in the top-right corner.
- Scroll to the bottom and tap ADD A PLAYER to launch the Connect to Player wizard.
- Tap Add Subwoofer.
- Select PULSE SUB+ to launch the Connect to Pulse Sub+ wizard.
- As illustrated in the wizard, press the Home button on iPhone or iPad and open the iOS Settings and tap Wi-Fi.
- Select the PULSE SUB+’s hotspot* from the available WiFi networks.
- Return to the BluOS Controller App. The Connect to Wi-Fi screen is displayed.
- Select your home WiFi network from the drop-down menu.
If your home WiFi network does not appear or is hidden, select Manual SSID Entry and tap Select. Enter the WiFI Network name and select the Security Method used by your network. - Enter Password and tap Continue.
- Enter the PULSE SUB+’s name (or room location name) and tap Continue.
- Wait for the Setup Complete screen to be displayed with two options:

- Use without Pairing – Select when connecting PULSE SUB+ to a player using a wired subwoofer cable. PULSE SUB+ is displayed as a separate player in the Player Drawer. If you decide to pair wirelessly, refer to Pairing PULSE SUB+ with Existing Bluesound Player.
- Start Pairing – Select the player to pair with and tap Continue.
When the Pairing Complete screen is displayed, tap Finish.
The PULSE SUB +’s status indicator LED turns to solid Blue indicating a successful connection to the WiFi network.

Pairing PULSE SUB+ with Existing Bluesound Player
Prerequisites:

- PULSE SUB + is powered on.
- Bluesound player to be paired is powered on, connected to the network, and not in Standby Mode (play any audio).
- In the BluOS Controller App, select the Rooms button
to open the Player Drawer.
- Under My Subwoofers, select the Link icon
next to PULSE SUB+.
- Select the player to pair with and tap Continue.
- When Pairing Complete screen is displayed, tap Finish.
Unpairing a PULSE SUB+
- In the BluOS Controller App, select the Rooms button
to open the Player Drawer.
- Select the Player paired with PULSE SUB+.
- Select the player’s context menu (3 dots) and select Audio Settings. The Audio Settings screen is displayed.
- Select Subwoofer and the subwoofer menu is displayed.
- Select Unpair.
Notes
- Alternatively, you can connect PULSE SUB+ wired directly to any PULSE SOUNDBAR+, Bluesound Gen 2/2i players, or Bluesound Gen 1 POWERNODE using a Subwoofer cable (not included in the package).
- PULSE SUB+’s Status Indicator LED blinks Blue and Purple alternatively if PULSE SUB+ is connected to your network but not paired wirelessly with another Bluesound player.
