Configure Player Settings
To manage the Player settings of the NODE ICON, perform the following steps:
Android/iOS - Configure Player Settings
- In the BluOS Controller App, select the Players tab
. The list of players connected to the BluOS Controller App is displayed.
- Select the NODE ICON.
- Select the Home tab
> Settings button
.
Windows/macOS - Configure Player Settings
- In the BluOS Controller App, select the Player Drawer.
- Select the NODE ICON.
- Select Settings or Help from the left Navigation Drawer.
Player Settings
Alarms
Set the alarm to have the Player turn on or switch to a specific Play Queue or Radio station favorite at a designated time. Alarms serve to wake up a sleeping user, activate upon your return home, or even switch to a preferred radio program like News or a weekly countdown. Learn more.
Sleep timer
Enable Sleep Timer to listen to your playlist before sleep. It pauses playback after a set time, gradually reducing the volume to zero. Learn more.

Configure the audio settings of the Player. Learn more.
Player
Configure the Player Settings.

Default (Windows/macOS only): This option lets users select the player that will automatically be chosen in the Player Drawer each time the BluOS Controller app is launched.

WiFi: Configure the Wireless network settings. If your wired Player wants wireless options, select this to access WiFi settings in BluOS, avoiding the initial Hotspot setup. Apply changes, power off, disconnect the Ethernet cable, and restart in the new location.

Configure Wireless: Select the required wireless network.
Note: If the required WiFi Network does not appear or is hidden, select Manual SSID Entry from the drop-down menu (last). Enter the Wireless SSID and select the Protection type the network uses. - Enter password or key (if protected): Enter the wireless network's password.
- Player name: Choose the preset player name from the dropdown selections.

Custom name: Input a personalized name to alter the default player name.
Note: Player's default name – The default name is listed as the product name followed by the last four digits in the MAC (Machine Access Control) address (example: NODE ICON - 0036). The complete 12-digit MAC address is printed on a sticker on the bottom or back panel of the Player.

Configure Wireless: Select the required wireless network.
- Room name: During the initial player setup, you will have the option to assign a Room Name for your player, which will be the displayed name in the BluOS Controller app. You can change it later using this option.

Customize sources: Configure the settings of sources.
- Bluetooth: BluOS allows audio streaming from Bluetooth-enabled devices such as smartphones, tablets, or computers. You can also stream audio from Pandora®, Sirius/XM®, Apple Music®, TDC Play®, and many more music services. This audio can be streamed to multiple BluOS Players when the players are grouped. Analog Input / Optical Input / HDMI: When an external source is connected via the Analog/Optical/HDMI port, an Analog/Optical/HDMI Input button will appear respectively under the Music tab
> Music Sources > Inputs, allowing you to choose it as a source. The Input source is dedicated to the Player with a physically attached source. However, this Player can also serve as a Primary Player and stream content to multiple Grouped Players. Learn more.
- Name: Change the name of the Source Input.
- Icon: Change the icon of the Source Input.

Auto Sense: When Auto Sense is enabled, your Player will automatically switch to this source upon detecting a valid signal (unless a different digital input is active). If Auto Sense is disabled, you must manually choose the input source. Learn more.
Note: Only one source can have Auto Sense turned on. - A/V mode: Enable or disable the A/V mode. When enabled, the BluOS automatically adjusts the audio delay to keep the grouped BluOS devices in sync with the connected video source. Learn more.

Lip-sync delay [50 ~ 150 ms]: Incorporate a maximum of 150 milliseconds of audio delay to compensate for potential delays in the audio signal reaching the Player before video playback from an external device like a Cable Box or BluRay Player. Ideally, ensure direct connections of all devices to your TV Display and link the TV Audio Output to the Player.
Note: This slider is available only when A/V mode is enabled. - Compressed Grouped Audio: Enable this option for utilizing high-quality, low-latency compression when relaying audio from this source to other group members. This minimizes network strain and typically enhances overall reliability.

Hide source: Enable this option to conceal the source from appearing in the Music tab
> Music Sources > Inputs when an external device is connected through the Player's Input source port.

IR remote: Control the Player using an IR remote.

BluOS Remote: The Bluesound RC1 allows you to control your music without the BluOS Controller app. The RC1 comes pre-programmed for Bluesound players and requires no configuration out of the box.
- Enable BluOS Remote: Enable this option to control your music using the Bluesound RC1. For more information on BluOS remote setup, refer to our Help Center article.
- IR Channel [0 ~ 7]: If you are using multiple BluOS players in your home environment, which you would like to control with your Bluesound RC1, you can change the channel the remote uses to prevent unintended commands from being sent to one of your players. To ensure your RC1 works correctly with your player, you will need to have both configured for the same channel. Learn more.
- IR Learning: Use your TV remote or any IR remote to control the BluOS Player using IR learning. Learn more.

- Indicator brightness: Alter or deactivate the brightness of the Status Indicator (LED) on the Players. Choose from three available settings: Normal, Dim, or Off.

Proximity: Customize how the touch button indicators behave by using the Players' proximity sensors.
- Enable Proximity: When enabled, the touch buttons will only light up when the proximity sensor detects nearby movement. When disabled, the touch buttons remain continuously lit.

Proximity Timeout [2s ~ 10s]: Adjust the duration for which the touch button indicators stay active after motion or touch detection ends. Note: Available only when the Enable Proximity option is turned ON.
- Backup playlists: BluOS suggests creating a backup of your playlists on a USB flash drive to prevent accidental playlist loss. This backup and restore capability also enable users to execute a factory reset while retaining the playlist as long as the network sources remain unchanged. Learn more.
- Dark Mode: When enabled, the LCD display's music source background switches to dark mode. When disabled, the background reverts to the default bright mode.
- LCD Brightness: Adjust the front panel display brightness level.
- Clock View in Network Standby: When enabled, the chosen Clock View appears on the front panel display when the Player enters network Standby. When disabled, the Clock is not displayed.
- 24-Hour Time: When enabled, the front display shows the digital clock in 24-hour format. When disabled, it switches to a 12-hour format with AM or PM indicators.
- Timezone Offset: Adjust the slider to set the clock to your preferred timezone.
- Clock View: Select from three display options: Digital, Analog 1, or Analog 2.
- Now Playing View: Choose to display various features of the current track on the front display: Text, Cover, Cover + Meta, or Clock.
Music library
- Network shares: Displays the network shares configured to the player. BluOS Players will pull music from an existing digital Music Library across the network using Windows SMB File Sharing (SAMBA), provided network sharing is enabled. Learn more.
- Reindex music collection: If changes are made to your library, the BluOS Controller app will require a reindex to recognize the changes made. Reindexing involves scanning your music library for any newly added, removed, or updated files, ensuring that these changes are accurately displayed within the BluOS Controller app. Learn more.

Optimize Artwork: When Optimize Artwork is enabled, the BluOS firmware does not focus on the specific resolution of the file (e.g., 300x300, 500x500, 1024x1024). The restriction applies solely to the artwork file's size. For external graphics exceeding 600 KB but under 4 MB, BluOS resizes them to a 600x600 JPG format. Portable Network Graphic files (.png) are also converted to 600x600 JPG and resized.
When Optimize Artwork is disabled, ensure the artwork resolution does not exceed 1200x1200 pixels and that the file size remains under 600 KB. Learn more.
- Enable Server Mode: Server Mode shares the music on a connected USB storage device across the network with other Players. Learn more.
Playback
- Autofill: Upon selecting a track from an album or playlist, the chosen track will commence playing immediately. If Autofill is enabled, the remaining tracks from the Album or playlist will be automatically added to the Play Queue within the Autofill section. Learn more.
Reload artwork
If you find artwork out of the ordinary (completely black or older albums), select Reload artwork to clear the old cache. All the artwork disappears and reloads as you scroll through the BluOS Controller App.
Haptic Feedback
(Android/iOS only) When enabled, the BluOS Controller App provides brief haptic vibrations in response to selecting any UI icons. When disabled, this feature is turned off.

Send Support Request
Fill in the fields with the required information and select Send Request. The diagnostic log of the player is generated and sent along with the support request.
Upgrade
Check for updates to the BluOS firmware.
Add a Player
(Android/iOS only) – Run the player setup wizard to add a new player to the existing BluOS system.
Shortcuts
(Windows/macOS only) – View the list of keyboard shortcuts to navigate across the BluOS Controller App.
Diagnostics
- View the player’s wireless Network name (Wifi), Signal Strength (Wifi), IP Address, MAC Address, BluOS Version, Uptime, and Total Songs.
- Rebuild Index: Select to delete and recreate an index. For more information, view the Help Center article.
- Connected Shares: Displays the pathname of accessible network file shares within the network, including the Bluesound VAULT's Music library.

Other Players: Displays the IP address of all other players available on the network.
Selecting the Room name of other players launches the Diagnostics view of the selected Player. Select the Home icon in the upper-right corner to launch the Control Panel screen of the selected Player. Selecting the Room name of other players launches the Diagnostics view for the chosen Player. To access the Control Panel screen of the chosen Player, select the Home iconlocated in the upper-right corner. Learn more.
- Statistics collection: Enable/disable to control passive reporting of BluOS players. For more information, view the Help Center article.
- Force Hotspot Mode: Select to reset the BluOS player to Hotspot mode. For more information, view the Help Center article.
- Reboot: Select to restart the player.
