If your Bluesound player is not within the line of sight of the listening area, and you intend to control the player using an IR remote, attaching an IR extender to the Bluesound player is necessary. You can acquire an IR extender from a third-party retailer like Niles, Speakercraft, or Xantech.
Generation 2 [2015] or later Bluesound models (except PULSE models) have a mono 3.5 mm IR IN port* on the rear side panel.
Note: *The IR IN port on Bluesound Players does not provide power. To operate the IR extender, you must supply external power from either a wall power socket or the USB port of the connected Bluesound Player.
Connection
- Connect the IR extender to the mono 3.5 mm IR IN port of the Bluesound player.
- Position the receiver (sensor) end of the IR Extender in a location that offers an unobstructed line of sight to the IR remote.
Bluesound players support IR remote learning. For more information, refer to our Help Center article.
