Rediscover your Local Library (Network Share/Local Share/VAULT/USB) or find Music Easier on your favorite Music Service by taking advantage of better browsing in the BluOS Controller app.
Simplified Browse Criteria
The BluOS Controller app features a simplified browse model with clearly marked options. Simply select a Browse criteria.
Find What's New
New Albums in your Local Library and Recent Favorites in certain Music Services will appear on the top Browse screen for easy access to listen to all your latest hot picks.
One Touch Album Play
Want to listen to an album now? Select the Play button on the lower right of the album cover from any browse menu to add and Play that album to the Play Queue immediately.
Sort Preferences (local Library)
Note: Sort preferences are personalized user settings retained by the app, persisting even when you exit and subsequently reopen it. These local Library sort preferences are exclusive to the specific app-installed device and operate independently of the network. For example, modifying preferences on an iOS app device will not impact your Android or Desktop app devices.
Albums
The Albums section contains albums by different artists. To configure sorting preferences for Albums in your local Library, follow these steps:
Android/iOS - Configure Album Sorting
- In the BluOS Controller app, navigate to the Music tab
> Library (under Music Services section) > Album.
- Tap the Sort by button
in the upper-right corner to display the Album Sort by options.
Windows/macOS - Configure Album Sorting
- In the BluOS Controller app, under the left Navigation Drawer, select Library > Albums.
- Select the Sort by drop-down menu in the upper-left corner to display the Album Sorting options.
Album Sorting options:
- A to Z
- Recent
- Year
- Decade
- Artist
- Artist & Release Date
Note: The Albums section within the Genres category of the local Library also presents the Album Sorting option.
Artist Albums
The Artist Album comprises multiple albums from a single artist. To configure sorting preferences for Artist Albums in your local Library, follow these steps:
Android/iOS - Configure Artist Album Sorting
- In the BluOS Controller app, navigate to the Music tab
- Select the required Artist, and under the Albums section, tap SHOW ALL in the upper-right corner.
- Tap the Sort by button
Windows/macOS - Configure Artist Album Sorting
- In the BluOS Controller app, under the left Navigation Drawer, select Library > Artists.
- Select the required Artist, and under the Albums section, select SHOW ALL in the upper-right corner.
- Select the Sort by drop-down menu in the upper-left corner to display the Artist Album Sorting options.
Artist Album Sorting options:
- A to Z
- Release Date
- Recent
Note: The Artist Albums section within the Genres category of the local Library also presents the Artist Album Sorting option.
Filter by Quality (local Library)
Filter by Quality is available for Albums, Artist Albums, and Songs criterion in the local Library of the BluOS Controller app.
Android/iOS - Filter by Quality
- In the BluOS Controller app, navigate to the Music tab
- Select Artist Album, or Albums, or Songs criterion.
Note: For Artist Albums, navigate to Artist>Albums>SHOW ALL. - Tap the Sort by button
Windows/macOS - Filter by Quality
- In the BluOS Controller app, under the left Navigation Drawer, select Library.
- Select Artist Album, or Albums, or Songs criterion.
Note: For Artist Albums, navigate to Artist>Albums>SHOW ALL. - Select the Sort by drop-down menu in the upper-left corner to display the Filter by Quality options.
Filter by Quality options:
- MQA (Master Quality Audio content)
- High Resolution (24-bit content)
- CD (16-bit content)
Note: Choose multiple options to get additional results. For instance, to exclude MP3 or lossy content, select MQA, High Resolution, and CD.
What Happened to Genre Filtering?
Genre is now a criterion that can be selected from the browse menu of the Library/Music Service.
Artists and Composer Summary Page
Select an Artist or Composer, and a Summary Page will display a swipe list of 5 albums and a listing of the top 5 songs by that artist or composer. Select Show All to the right of Albums or Songs for the complete listing.
