How to create Multi Player Fixed Groups?

By creating a fixed group with your Bluesound Players, you can have your players work together to provide a specific listening experience different from the Standard grouping in the BluOS Controller App. After creating a fixed group, these players appear as a single player in your BluOS Controller App's Players tab Playerstab_icon.png /Player Drawer. You can create three different types of Fixed Groups in the BluOS Controller App.

Multi-Player Group

A Multi-Player group acts similarly to standard grouping in the BluOS Controller App. The main advantage of a Multi-Player group is to group multiple players that should function together and not independently. Multi-Player Group appears as a single player in the Players tab 001_Playerstab_button.png of the BluOS Controller App.
Note: The Bluesound Players* with USB Audio OUT source must be the first player selected in the group to prevent synchronization issues.

Creating a Multi-Player Group

To create a Multi-Player group, perform the following steps:

iOS/Android

Windows/macOS
  1. In the BluOS Controller App, tap the Players tab Playerstab_icon.png.
  2. Tap the Fixed Group button Fixed Group.png in the upper-right corner. The Fixed Groups screen is displayed.
  3. Tap the Create Fixed Group or Add a Player_icon.png button. The Create Fixed Group screen is displayed.
  4. Tap Multi-Player Group. The Select Players screen appears with the list of available players.
  5. Select the required players and tap Next/Continue.
  6. Enter the name of the Multi-Player Group, and tap Next/Continue. The Setup Complete screen is displayed.
  7. Tap Finish to return to the Fixed Groups screen.
  8. Tap Done to exit. The Players tab Playerstab_icon.png lists the Multi-Player Group as a single player.
  1. In the BluOS Controller App, click the Player Drawer.
  2. Click the Fixed Group button Fixed Group.png in the upper-right corner. The Fixed Groups screen is displayed.
  3. Click the Add a Player_icon.png button (upper-right corner) or Create Fixed Group. The Create Fixed Group screen is displayed.
  4. Click Multi-Player Group. The Select Players screen appears with the list of available players.
  5. Select the required players and click Select.
  6. Enter the name of the Multi-Player Group and click Set Name. The All done screen is displayed.
  7. Click Finish. The Player Drawer lists the Multi-Player Group as a single player.

Balancing or Adjusting Players in a Fixed Group

To adjust the Player's Audio Settings in a Fixed Group, perform the following steps:

  1. In the BluOS Controller App, select the Players tab Playerstab_icon.png. The list of groups/players connected to the BluOS Controller App is displayed.
  2. Tap the Fixed Group’s context menu (3 dots) and select Audio Settings.

Windows/macOS - Balancing or Adjusting Players in a Fixed Group

  1. Launch the BluOS Controller app and select the Player Drawer. The list of groups/players connected to the BluOS Controller App is displayed.
  2. Select the Fixed Group’s context menu (3 dots) and select Audio Settings.

Edit Fixed Group Player's Settings

To edit the Fixed Group's Player Settings, perform the following steps:

  1. In the BluOS Controller App, select the Players tab Playerstab_icon.png. The list of groups/players connected to the BluOS Controller App is displayed.
  2. Select the Fixed Group’s context menu (3 dots) and select Edit Fixed Group.
  3. Select the required Player to modify the Player settings.

Windows/macOS - Edit Fixed Group Player's Settings

  1. Launch the BluOS Controller app and select the Player Drawer. The list of groups/players connected to the BluOS Controller App is displayed.
  2. Select the Fixed Group’s context menu (3 dots) and select Edit Fixed Group.
  3. Select the required Player to modify the Player settings.

Deleting a Fixed Group

To delete the Fixed Group, perform the following steps:

  1. In the BluOS Controller App, select the Players tab Playerstab_icon.png. The list of groups/players connected to the BluOS Controller App is displayed.
  2. Select the Fixed Group’s context menu (3 dots) and select Delete Fixed Group.

Windows/macOS - Deleting a Fixed Group

  1. Launch the BluOS Controller app and select the Player Drawer. The list of groups/players connected to the BluOS Controller App is displayed.
  2. Select the Fixed Group’s context menu (3 dots) and select Delete Fixed Group.

Note

  • Players cannot be added or removed from a Fixed Group. To add or remove players, you should delete and recreate a new Fixed Group.
