Fixed Groups makes Stereo Pairing easier

By creating a fixed group with your Bluesound Players, you can have your players work together to provide a specific listening experience different from the Standard grouping in the BluOS Controller App. After creating a fixed group, these players appear as a single player in your BluOS Controller App's Players tab Playerstab_icon.png /Player Drawer. You can create three different types of Fixed Groups in the BluOS Controller App.

Stereo Pair Group

Adding two players from the PULSE/PULSE M/PULSE MINI/PULSE FLEX models to a stereo pair configures each player to handle a single channel output (left or right), allowing them to play together in stereo. A stereo Pair is useful when you place two speakers (for example, Bluesound PULSE 2i) on opposite sides of the same room.

Creating a Stereo Pair

To create a Stereo pair, perform the following steps:

  1. In the BluOS Controller App, tap the Players tab Playerstab_icon.png.
  2. Tap the Fixed Group button Fixed Group.png in the upper-right corner. The Fixed Groups screen is displayed.
  3. Tap the Create Fixed Group or Add a Player_icon.png button (upper-right corner). The Create Fixed Group screen is displayed.
  4. Tap Stereo Pair. The Select Players screen appears with the list of available players.
  5. Select the required two players and tap Continue.
  6. Enter the Group Name for the Stereo Pair Group and tap Next/Continue. One of the two players plays a sample sound (white noise).
  7. Select the corresponding player playing the sample sound (left or right) in the BluOS Controller app, and tap Next/Continue. The Setup Complete screen is displayed.
  8. Tap Finish to return to the Fixed Groups screen.
  9. Tap Done to exit. The Players tab Playerstab_icon.png lists the Stereo Pair as a single player.

  2. Click the Fixed Group button Fixed Group.png in the upper-right corner. The Fixed Groups screen is displayed.
  3. Click the Add a Player_icon.png button (upper-right corner) or Create Fixed Group. The Create Fixed Group screen is displayed.
  4. Click Stereo Pair. The Select Players screen appears with the list of available players.
  5. Select the required two players and click Select.
  6. Enter the name of the Stereo Pair and click Set Name. One of the two players plays a sample sound (white noise).
  7. Select the corresponding player with sample sound (left or right) in the BluOS Controller App and click Select. The All done screen is displayed.
  8. Click Finish. The Player Drawer lists the Stereo Pair as a single player.

Balancing or Adjusting Players in a Fixed Group

To adjust the Player's Audio Settings in a Fixed Group, perform the following steps:

  1. In the BluOS Controller App, select the Players tab Playerstab_icon.png. The list of groups/players connected to the BluOS Controller App is displayed.
  2. Tap the Fixed Group’s context menu (3 dots) and select Audio Settings.

Windows/macOS - Balancing or Adjusting Players in a Fixed Group

  1. Launch the BluOS Controller app and select the Player Drawer. The list of groups/players connected to the BluOS Controller App is displayed.
  2. Select the Fixed Group’s context menu (3 dots) and select Audio Settings.

Edit Fixed Group Player's Settings

To edit the Fixed Group's Player Settings, perform the following steps:

  1. In the BluOS Controller App, select the Players tab Playerstab_icon.png. The list of groups/players connected to the BluOS Controller App is displayed.
  2. Select the Fixed Group’s context menu (3 dots) and select Edit Fixed Group.
  3. Select the required Player to modify the Player settings.

  1. Launch the BluOS Controller app and select the Player Drawer. The list of groups/players connected to the BluOS Controller App is displayed.
  2. Select the Fixed Group’s context menu (3 dots) and select Edit Fixed Group.
  3. Select the required Player to modify the Player settings.

Deleting a Fixed Group

To delete the Fixed Group, perform the following steps:

  1. In the BluOS Controller App, select the Players tab Playerstab_icon.png. The list of groups/players connected to the BluOS Controller App is displayed.
  2. Select the Fixed Group’s context menu (3 dots) and select Delete Fixed Group. (Note: Both Players return to full Stereo mode, removing Left and Right channel isolation.)

Windows/macOS - Deleting a Fixed Group

  1. Launch the BluOS Controller app and select the Player Drawer. The list of groups/players connected to the BluOS Controller App is displayed.
  2. Select the Fixed Group’s context menu (3 dots) and select Delete Fixed Group. (Note: Both Players return to full Stereo mode, removing Left and Right channel isolation.)

Notes

  • You cannot add a stereo-paired group to a second Fixed Group.
  • Players cannot be added or removed from a Fixed Group. To add or remove players, you should delete and recreate a new Fixed Group.
