Popping sound when changing input or track - Powernode n330
AnsweredHi,
I just purchased (yesterday) a Powernode n330 and nearly every time I change a track or an input a 'popping' sound comes out of the speakers, is this normal??

I'm also having this issue/problem/bug. Node --> BJC 1.8m coax S/PDIF --> Rega Elicit Mk5 Coax Input. (I also get this issue if I use an optical toslink cable with this setting).
If I go from the Node to another "cheaper" dac (in this case an FX-Audio DAC-X6) then from the dac to the amp (via analogue), the popping/digital noise isn't as loud and seems shorter and doesn't happen as frequently when jumping to other tracks of different resolution.
The Rega uses a Wolfson dac (16-24 bit up to 192kHz). The FX-Audio DAC-X6 uses the CS4398 and CS8416 in its DAC chipset (16 bit: Support 44.1 – 192 kHz / 24 bit: Support 44.1 – 96 kHz).0 -
Hi TBof
Last week we released BlUOS 3.20.49 for your Bluesound NODE N130. Please update to that and let us know if it is better as this release does include some updates specifically targeted at this issue. Please feel free to send your feedback (along with your log file which is sent automatically) using the App by selecting Help, Send Support Request.

Hi Tony, problem is still there when changing inputs on PowerNode N330. Popping sound from the sub. I do not hear it loud when the sub is off. So pops are in the lower frequenties.

Hi Tony W.
I still have this issue. It says I have the BluOS Controller 3.20.5 build 1934 and Windows App: 3.20.5 BluOS 3.20.49 installed. Am I up to date? I just sent a Support Request as you requested via the Windows BluOS app.
For me it's not that much of a deal since I only have Tidal on trial. I will stick with Spotify with which I don't have this issue.
Thanks,
Ben, aka tbof.0 -
Hi Tony, The popping sound is still present but not as loud as before the last firmware update.

Hello,
I had the exact same problem on my Powernode N330 with Dali E12F sub. I confirm that the update BluOS 3.20.49 released on April 25, 2023 solves this problem completely. I think they added a short term temporary mute, each time the format changes. There is still a short "pop" if you change input between HDMI and other streaming services but not as loud as before too.
My sincere thanks to technical team for solving this issue.
