    OFFICIAL COMMENT UPDATE;

Thanks for your patience - we are aware it only happens with the SUB attached and investigating route causes. We are publishing a new maintenance release to the current BluOS 3.16 on December 28th but will tell you in advance that the fix is not in it. We will however update as soon as we can.

Please feel free to watch this thread for updates as they become available.

    Thanks for your patience...

Hi all, I wanted to comment here from the product side to let you know this is a top priority for our team, and I hope to have some more news on a fix in the short-term.

Thanks to this community post and a few others like it, plus some individual customer support tickets that have been raised, this issue has been on our radar. We have had trouble replicating the issue ourselves, which is why we haven't had a fix yet. It is hard to fix something you cannot see or hear.

In any case, there is software engineering attention on this, and with the help of a few more recent cases where we have more detailed information, I'm quite hopeful our team will figure out the root cause of the issue and submit a fix via BluOS update when available.

I'll aim to keep everyone updated on the progress here. I'm personally sorry for the lack of input on this issue over the past months...that is on me.

In the meantime, all the best as we head into 2023 and thank you for your continued support.

    -Matt

    Hi TBof

Last week we released BlUOS 3.20.49 for your Bluesound NODE N130. Please update to that and let us know if it is better as this release does include some updates specifically targeted at this issue. Please feel free to send your feedback (along with your log file which is sent automatically) using the App by selecting Help, Send Support Request.

    Hello,

I had the exact same problem on my Powernode N330 with Dali E12F sub. I confirm that the update BluOS 3.20.49 released on April 25, 2023 solves this problem completely. I think they added a short term temporary mute, each time the format changes. There is still a short "pop" if you change input between HDMI and other streaming services but not as loud as before too.

My sincere thanks to technical team for solving this issue.

Hi Lennie, since my first post I have realised the same thing, the sound was coming out of the sub and not the speakers. I have spoken to Nishchal (bluesound support) and they know about the issue

"After speaking with our engineering team regarding your specific issue they have been able to replicate it here in our labs. Our engineering team will be looking into this further and be providing a fix for this issue in a future firmware update."

So not sure how long it will take to fix. I've just stopped using my sub until its fixed which isn't a great solution.

Thanks for your patience and understanding

The popping sound you are hearing snuck its way in as a software bug during a recent update. Our Quality Assurance team is investigating the root cause and will resolve it as quickly as they can. I hate to admit it but this does happen from time to time with any integrated smart technology product, not just Bluesound. Admittedly it is embarrassing but we will resolve it as quickly as we can.

We do apologise for the inconvenience.

Hello, I have the same problem. I spend a lot of money for a good audio system and I find the popping sound between songs not nice. I hope you fix the problem soon

Almost 3 months ago since the last reply from Mark. Any updates on when we can expect the fix? It’s still a very anoying issue.

    Any progress on this subject?

Having the same issue here and it annoys me so much that I switched off the subwoofer.

    Which should not be necessary.

Same problem here. Popping between almost every track when using Roon, BlueOS, Spotify, etc. I’m not using a sub.

It’s not a very loud pop but it’s extremely annoying, especially for an audiophile level device. Any new updates?

I believe Bluesound will fix this issue. Santa Claus will do it himself.

Nathan is wrong. They reproduced the issue a long time ago but not yet fixed it. It’s not in the release notes and my Powernode still plops when changing inputs or streams. Spotify does not click or pop.

I am having this issue WITHOUT a sub. I get a loud snap when the track changes IF I am playing a playlist from constantly varied albums/artists. If I play one album in it's entirety, I don't get the snap. But if I play a playlist with a mix of songs, I get the loud snap. I read somewhere a Bluesound engineer suspected it was from different recording levels into an external DAC. Here is my set-up:

Tidal streaming (it happens with both Tidal Connect and using the Bluesound app)

Bluesound Node 2i with ethernet (wired) connection from router

    Coax connection to external DAC

Peachtree Nova 300 integrated amplifier with built-in DAC

    Bowers & Wilkins CM5 Speakers

Hi Tony, problem is still there when changing inputs on PowerNode N330. Popping sound from the sub. I do not hear it loud when the sub is off. So pops are in the lower frequenties.

That is not normal on most speakers. Please re-trim your speaker cables. If problems persist, please select Help, Send Support Request in the Bluesound App so we may take a closer look.

    Hi
Thanks for the reply, I tried to re-trim the cables and the popping sound is still there. after searching last night it seems to be a known issue. I found a few threads about this on this forum and others. It also happens when the file changes bit rate, for example using Qobuz it pops when the file goes from CD to HR.

Basically, it pops when something changes - input, preset, file bit-rate

I'm super disappointed as I saved for months to be able to afford this :(

I’ll contact support to see if they can solve the issue

Same issue here. Helpdesk told me this is normal. The popping is not very loud so I try not to give it attention.

    Hiya

Weird, I was told that it was a known bug and was going to get fixed very soon in an update.  This did not happen with my previous Node 2i.

If this continues after the update I’m going to return it. I’m not paying this much money for something that pops and clicks every time a new song plays. It's crazy and extremely annoying hahaha..  I've also read online that people have been downgrading to the previous version and that solves the issue.

    Hi Michel (et al)

I wouldn't say 'normal' - what you are hearing is a bit rate change that you shouldn't hear. Try retrimming your speaker connectors, checking your cable settings.

Tony - any update on this?  I have the same issue (loud thump when changing tracks at different resolutions). However, the noise/pop emanates from my subs.  There is no noise when the subs are not connected.

Thanks LD.  Very helpful.  Yes, it is frustrating.  Such a great product besides this subout issue, which is key for me.

Hi Tony, thanks for the update. It's pretty weird that bluesound are knowingly selling a £850 faulty product??

I wouldn't have purchased it if I knew this was happening.

Sorry if that comes out rude but i find it pretty crazy.

Its got a SUBout but you can't use it hahahaha

Same for me. Just purchased a new Powernode N330 yesterday with a KEF KC62 sub. Get the popping sound as well. Any update?
