There's nothing good from being at the back of the line. You're sitting there waiting while everyone else gets enjoyment and then when it's finally your turn it's usually disappointment because everyone has told you everything you are going to experience. Trust me, I've been at the back of the line most of my life, there's no virtue in it.

Pfffff 11mb update and it took so long. What a lounge.......

It is a problem to upload pictures right now. So it will be by description for now.

home screen 2 cm black at top, why waisting 2 cm with black information?
    settings audio
strange grey text, that you can read partial, because it is longer as the screen and you can not move anything
Letterype is strange bold and not pleasant to read.

When from home screen, using most used and than Tune IN -> not able to search within the next screen, just scrolling to find something

Also at home screen, most used, you can not "program" a default action behind a button. There are 2 fixed options. Quite unusefull

Within settings under diagnostic and software information, still old font used, not all is in the same style.

Mhhh there is still a lot of room for improvement. Overall quite disappointing update based on the rumors and information there was before this "launch"

    @Andrew H.

It would be nice to have even a limited EQ.  Yamaha's MusicCast software offers lows, mids, and highs for all hardware.  It's much better than bass, treble only.

Everything has been updated and it's very good. I have NAD C658. But I have one question: Tidal now broadcasts in three formats - CD, HiRes (Flac) and MQA. The BluOS application shows only two formats and the CD format shows as Flac. How can you differentiate between these three formats in an application? I hope I explained it clearly...

    Hi Michael

Andrew commented on that very subject on a thread more specific about TIDAL here; https://support1.bluesound.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/16050576965783/comments/18363243965591

That's a bit odd, nothing has changed in the N330 fw that would change the micro for proximity, but will pass it along for review

What about the cut off title in the IOS horizontal titel-screen and the cut off volume bar in the vertical titel-screen?

    If this helps:

This morning I had a second update show up in the Google Store for the BluOS Controller app on Android.

Now, I can search my Library successfully on the Android app; but, I still can't search my Library successfully on the Windows Desktop.

Playlist -> Play Que -> only the last song from an album is in the playlist. All things you played before are deleted and gone.

This auto delete function after switching from 1 to another album is not friendly and not pleasant. It will be great if this will be as it was in the "old" situation.

Search in Windows application is not remembering last source and going again and again to the top of the list. This is very frustrating. When I do select Tidal, it should be on Tidal, till i do change this.

Android App seems to work okay in this matter.

The new interface certainly looks fresher compared to the previous installment.

My only gripe is there is still no universal search function.

I love the Bluesound products, I really do, but with respect, Sonos for example, has been doing this for almost 10 years if I'm not mistaken.

Why is there no beta test group before the launch?

It seems that the 4.0 is not tested outside Bluesound at all.

    Play now screen is improved.
I try all times to swipe this screen down, but that do not work. You have to click it down.

Is not logic and could be updated as well.

The playlist cleaning is also when switching back to the old interface. So this is a firmware matter.

Question: what will be the result of all feedback?

    Hello Andrew,

That's bad news but thanks for confirming.

seems like the beta testing started this week.

we are all in the beta test group. (although the whole thing behaves more like an alpha version).

Bluesound Team, may I humbly suggest before announcing any new release, you have employees or a group of volunteer beta testers thoroughly use the software and various devices (C700, M10) on all platforms (iOS, Android), for weeks at home and at work.

It’s ridiculous how many bugs are in this release. Surely with proper QA you would have seen such things as LCD Temporary Display not working. There’s not a whole lot of functions to test. It’s just poor customer service to hype the promise of the release of new software that ends up disappointing customers. Just keep it a secret and release it when you fix all the obvious bugs. Not hard to do or plan for.

@Steven, this went through 2-months of betas with two different versions before now. From a feedback standpoint we are normalizing everything as we find it or are told about it.

What about a DIRAC lite for Bluesound products? I'm extremely pleased with DIRAC on my M33 and C658.

@Petercharlesg - we did 2 betas, over 2 months worldwide to work through issues.  And with 80 devices and a large significant amount of change it is hard to find everything.  We are internally not satisfied and will work to improve, but as this is the largest release we have ever done we are proud of what we have accomplished as a team.

@Brian - the next update will be support for Dirac bass control.

I was for a long time head of product development/marketing in the telco industry and one of my teams developed router. You can have as many beta tests as you want but in the end there will be plenty of bugs that shine through only in special situations or combinations. Therefore I can understand the team.
Now it is time to fix them quickly.

I am more annoyed that there is still no apple silicon native mac client.

Thanks Guido, so true...  For Apple we are talking to their team, and discussing all aspects.  We are optimistic for the future, but again this is entirely up to them to give us access.  We have a fantastic relationship with the Airplay team and that is something the team has done a stellar job with.  Apple notes that we are one of the few companies that keeps up to date with the airplay firmware release and we have recertified our 38+ products that support it now multiple times

Thanks for the feedback and information. Strange there has never been a/the possibility for me to join any beta program.

I do also run Android 14 beta for example. Easy to access, easy to try and available for the person who want. Perhaps that is something for the future.

For now, I do hope we will see soon some updates, in firmware as well in software.

I think some basics are not correct, so I do not understand how this can pass any beta. But I hope we will be more positive surprised in the near future.

BluOS, the next generation in progress 🤪

Hi Andrew. Sorry to express my disappointment. It seems the team has done the months of beta testing I asked about, but inevitably the team does not catch every bug. From the perspective of the average customer it’s difficult to grasp how many obvious flaws get missed, even with that vigorous amount of QA. I get it, coding is complicated. Are you using any AI tools in the process? I hear more and more how AI can be implemented to more efficiently test such things.

I do appreciate what you all do to bring us great products. Thank you.

@peter - no need to apologize, each of us passionately expresses how we feel.  Honestly if you weren't excited and passionate about music and listening and using our products then we would never talk.  Have you ever heard the comment "2-steps forward, 1-step back"? sometimes when you fix something like a spider web it affects something else, unforeseen.  And as the button pushes and "what is connected to what", what handset/tablet/network/ conditions all affect something sometimes you miss stuff.  At the same time we are updating core BluOS, this means that there are many changes to how the hardware/buttons/processors and everything reacts.  So you do as much testing as you can, think you have them and then something shows up.  The good news is that our team is just that "ours" and we see the issues, replicate them and fix them as quickly as possible.  For the logic thoughts that are shared, the UI team reviews them for possible future changes
