What would be logical if there is really a standby after 15 minutes, it would be the extinction of the LEDs (not a change of color) and the disconnection of the network ...

Tony, thanks for publishing the labs measured power draw figures. This would appear to support our assertion that there is in fact no reduced power 'sleep mode' for the Node 2i device after 15 minutes of inactivity since compliance with the EU regulations is achieved by maintaining the standard operating mode.

    Hi Mark

Please re-read my post. Your conclusion is the opposite of what I posted. The NODE 2i, even when active meets EU requirements for inactive as it is a passive streamer.

Thanks for your patience and understanding.

    All,

    I'm using Powernode 2i and Node 2i connected to NAD pré-amp/amp C165/C275.

    Agree with most comments above:

Standby mode after 15 minutes and the led turning other color than blue (sleep, not deep sleep).

Ability to power down (deep sleep) from inside the app on the smartphone.

Power on by just ticking the upper control panel (as is today). Power on via app would be even better but understand the need for power, at least 3W.

I have recently bought a Denon receiver and there you get the option sleep/deep sleep by default.

Sleep means on/off via the app.

Deep sleep means if you need to power on, it's done on the device itself.

Would be great if this would be made possible via any future upgrade.

It can't be that I have to put a power switch on the cable like someone mentions above.. ;-)

Thanks and hope it will be available one day.

    Regards

    Hi Tony,
Yes, this makes perfect sense. I just wanted confirmation that the Node2i only has 2 modes of operation - 'on' and 'vacation' . An intermediate 'sleep' or standby mode is superfluous since the power drawn when fully active (on) satisfies EU inactive device requirements.

I am facing the very same issue with my NAD M50.2 that runs on BluOS - the power standby touch button (on the top of the unit) has gone inoperative since the most recent OS update (last week) and the only way to turn the unit Off/ On is via the power switch at the back of the unit.

My concern is that the extra heat developed by the 2.8 Watts compared with the 0.5 Watts, can't be good for the internal electronic components if the Node2i is idle for a long time.

Read this post, it's edifying about the poor sleep strategy for NAD and Bluesound devices

I have read all the posts and I still think that my point is valid. The Node 2i only goes into vacation mode after holding the play button for a few seconds or am I missing something?

    Hi Daniel

    As posted on the other thread;

Thanks for your feedback Daniel. As mentioned, it has been passed along to our partners at NAD Electronics for future consideration.

That being said, the NAD M10 is functioning exactly as designed; quiet, unobtrusive, and following EU requirements. It is unfortunate consumers feel a need to prove it is doing as designed rather than we just trust all requirements are there.

    Hi Terry

The NODE 2i is designed to not be turned off but to be always ready, we take heat into account when designing it. You should have no concerns about this.

Thank you everyone for your continued patience.

Look for an update to your Bluesound and BluOS Players (including the NAD M10 and NAD M50.2) in the next 24-48 hours to BluOS 3.12.6 to resolve this issue and restore the ability to place your player in Vacation Mode.

Just a reminder Vacation Mode is not an on/off switch as your Player is designed to sleep after 15 minutes consuming less than 3W for the easiest user experience and will not damage your hardware long term. Taking a player out of vacation mode can take up to 5 minutes to restore all network connections and will affect streaming playback during this boot process.

Thank you for your patience and we again apologise for the inconvenience.

Again I repeat, we have no visual evidence that the player goes to sleep after 15 minutes and again when you claim node 2i can take 5 minutes to wake up from deep sleep, that is is a joke, mine takes 10 seconds no more… !! you realize what it takes 5 minutes to wake up, your argument does not hold.

set your countdown to 5 minutes and wait ...

Well, I take things with philosophy, as I told you above, my next reader will not be a bluesound… 😉

    Hi-Res

DanieLand, you are really having a first world problem!!. Please turn off "repeat mode".

I believe the vast majority of BlueOS users haven't noticed that the ability to set the player in vacation mode was "missing".

@Tony: could you share/point to a table or similar with the various power modes and levels of all Bluesound products? I myself I am interested in the Node 2 and Pulse Flex and Pulse Flex 2i.

oh sorry, I didn't want to offend anyone ... but for me the deep vigil seems more logical to me when I am not listening to music ... I promise, I will not intervene ...

Thanks guys ! Just upgraded with the fix and it works again like before on my Powernode 2i. Will check my node 2i in the living room later today.

Could you please consider to have a button inside the app to put the node(s) into "deep sleep" like you call it instead of pushing for 5 seconds on the upper panel. Shouldn't be to difficult I think.. Switching on by just touching the panel is fine.

    Good day !

    Hi Jdestuyver

Thanks for the feedback but as mentioned earlier, due to hardware limitations, we cannot add this to the App and do not recommend you use VACATION MODE as part of your daily routine.

We need to use Vacation Mode because standby does not work and we need to use standby in order for our equipment to turn off via the trigger out mono headphone jack that you added to your own product. otherwise our amps and stuff stays on.

So i will break it down:

    Issue:
Expected: We need standby mode to work,
Actual: Standby mode does not work (bluesound blames it on everyone else)

Workaround: Use Vacation Mode to shut off Amp or other equipment

Expected: Vacation mode will work after you hold pause for 5 second
Actual: Vacation mode stopped working since last update

Suggestion: Bluesound team to log two bugs as CRITICAL  fix standby mode fix vacation mode

Result save everyone a headache and restore faith in your product line, sell more get rich be happy feel pride that you are up there with the likes of Apple and other great companies or keep going sell your product at Walmart in a few years for 9.99.

    Hi-Res

Bilal, stand-by mode is working flawlessly, and has been doing that since day one with my setup. I use trigger out, and speakers are turning on/off as expected. I have also a sub that makes a little "thump" when turning on/off when input signal is lost or returning from standby.

There is obviously something wrong with your setup, either on the input side or the output side.

There is no need to use capital letters, "shouting" can work well in your world, but here it is just annoying!

Update carried out and I am happy to have found the deep watch because as Bilal and I agree with him and understand his frustration, the day before after 15 minutes does not work, in any case nothing indicates it concretely ... and it's a shame ...

Here, I will myself put myself in deep sleep on this post.

    Musically, Daniel

Hi Bilal, as mentioned, what you are seeing is not normal and something is misbehaving. If you or anyone else does not have your trigger working, please send us the log file by selecting Help, Send Support Request and we will be happy to take a closer look.

    Hi Bilal

That's something different. Please select Help, Send Support Request and we will be happy to take a look

When sending in your support request, we will also need to know if you have any external devices plugged in as a source, if you are using a trigger cable (and it is a proper mono cable), the make and model of the amplifier connected

    Hi every one

Here is a post to add my voice and tell to the developers that I'm also bothered by the fact that I can't switch the Bluesound off and it's very annoying, because my Bang & Olufsen - Beolab 90 speakers refuse to switch off if the Bluesound does not.

Thank you for working on it or offering a way to download the previous version without bug.

    Xavier

    Hi Xavier

It looks like your active speakers do not have a trigger function - I would consult the documentation to ensure their advertised Auto Sense feature is working as designed.

As mentioned, above, please select Help, Send Support Request in the BluOS App for more detailed assistance but you should really probably contact B&O Support.

With update Bluos 3.12.6 the deep sleep for the Vault 2 is working again. Thank you!

    when an external hard drive is attached the only way to allow the drive to shut down is to use vacation mode;
    standby does not turn off the external disk;
    vacation mode is very useful

Great you’re working on this & I love the really responsiveness on this forum. It does seem, though, that there is not a rigorous enough regression testing regime in place - these sorts of issues seem commonplace after upgrades. Users should feel confident installing upgrades. (My last upgrade resulted in stuttering with my external DAC - the fix worked but shame a fix seems frequently needed - maybe just bad luck 2x in a row?).
