Broken Pipe Error
The Broken Pipe error message indicates an interruption in connectivity between the selected Music Service and the Bluesound Player. This error is transmitted by the Music Service provider when the Bluesound Player cannot stream fresh content and empties the playback buffer within a reasonable time frame.
General Errors
General errors can appear due to various factors, such as credentials mismatch, subscription ended, or other reasons.
Solution
In either case, we recommend you clear the error and replay the required track. If the issue persists, check the following to fix the errors:
A. Check your streaming service provider
Services can drop from the provider's end on rare occasions, so you may want to check out the current status of their service via their website or Twitter feed.
You may also try logging out of the service in the Music Services menu and logging back in.
B. Check what signal Bluesound Player is receiving from your Wi-Fi connection
Bluesound recommends having a signal wireless signal strength of -70 dBm or better between the Player and your router for optimal performance. For information on improving the Bluesound Player's signal strength, refer to our Help Center article.
C. Reboot Player
Android/iOS - Reboot Player
- In the BluOS Controller app, select the required to reboot from the Players tab
.
- Navigate to the Home tab
and select the Settings button
.
- Under the Help & Support section, select Diagnostics. The Diagnostics screen is displayed.
- Select Reboot.
Windows/macOS - Reboot Player
- Launch the BluOS Controller app and select the required Player from the Player Drawer.
- Under the left Navigation Drawer, select Help > Diagnostics > Reboot.

If you are receiving the error message Broken Pipe this indicates an interruption in connectivity between your Music Service and your Bluesound Player. The error is sent by the Music Service Provider and appears when the Bluesound Player was unable to receive content and empties the playback buffer within a reasonable time frame.
Simply clear the error and re-select the desired track. If the problem returns, please select Reboot on the Diagnostics page of the Help Menu.
