Bluesound Players do not have an ON/OFF switch. We have designed Bluesound Players with utmost significance given to user accessibility allowing the Players always to be ready to stream audio with a selection in the BluOS Controller App.
When Bluesound Players are idle (waiting to receive a command), they consume very little power like a switch or router. Also, all the Players remain interconnected even when you are not listening to music.
Bluesound Players have the following standby modes:
Energy Saving Standby (default, automatic), power consumption less than 6W –
When Generation 2 and later Players are idle for more than 15 minutes, they enter Power Save mode to conserve energy. However, the Players remain available on the network, responsive to App commands and resume playback immediately. The Energy Saving standby method is recommended and automatically initiated.
Vacation Mode Standby (not recommended), power consumption less than 0.5W –
- Enable – Press the PLAY/PAUSE* button for 5 seconds.
- Disable – Press the PLAY/PAUSE* button again.
We do not recommend using this option frequently. When enabled, all network activity of the Player ceases making it unavailable in the App. When disabled, it takes more time – to boot, initiate IP handshakes with other network devices, and resume playback.
For more information on the Power Consumption of each Bluesound Product, refer to their specifications.
Notes
- *The PULSE SOUNDBAR 2i does not have a PLAY/PAUSE button but instead has a dedicated STANDBY button on the rear panel.
- Vacation mode is available only in Generation 2 or later Players.
