During the initial setup of your NODE N130, please wire it to the router for a firmware update. Once resolved go ahead and set up wirelessly. You may have one of the first N130s that went out. We made a slight tweak to the wi-fi driver in updated firmware.
If issues persist, e-mail us at support@bluesound.com for 1:1 troubleshooting with the Support Crew.

Another N130 here with unusable 5 GHz reception. I got a replacement today but it has the same problem. 2.4 GHz works fine, 5 GHz doesn't work at all when more than 2 meters away from the router, with no obstacles in between. This is after updating over wired Ethernet and rebooting the router.
@Tony: This appears to be a fundamental problem, first reported half a year ago:

This problem is really hard to figure out when you start with 5 GHz. I wasted a lot of time on this. So did the dealer, who now also has a returned device to write off. Not a good start into my Bluesound experience.

Anyone using different SSID-names for 2.4 and 5G? I did during install of my Node (5 months ago). It refused to work properly on 5G. After renaming 2.4/5G to 1 SSID-name: no problems anymore. I use a Asus RT-AC87U router and monitor the connected devices on the router: it is strange, sometimes the Node is active on 2.4G, sometimes on 5G. I recently installed a Powernode. Both devices work fine and most of the time on 5G.
