NO / extreme low sound with Bluesound POWERNODE (N330)
AnsweredHello
I ve jst bought my Bluesound POWERNODE (N330). Connected it to Bowers & Wilkins 707 S2 and a B&W ASW608 Subwoofer.
Used an existing optical cable to connect the TV LG UF850V to the Bluesound POWERNODE (N330).
The speakers are brand new fully working with an NAD amplifier before.
On the output mode on the TV i selected the optical port as used before.
On the Bluesound APP i selected the Optical port 1 or 2 with an adpater supplied with Bluesound powerbank.
what am i doing wrong ? Is the Bluesound POWERNODE (N330) defect ? I ask this since i also tested separately the HDMI ARC connection but the Bluesound POWERNODE (N330) didnt recgonise the port. There is a HDMI ARC on port 2 on the TV. Also selected in the menu of the TV.
Any ideas what is going wrong here?
regards
Paul

Paired my phone with the Powernode via bluetooth ignoring / HDMI/ Optical. Tried playing music from Spotify via bluetooth. On the spotify app its shows its paired with the Powernode.
Checked volume lowest medium and highest
ZERO sound.

^ As Seppi says. I'd also include the make/model of your speakers. Are you hearing any audio out of the headphone port?

Make and model is written in first post.
I took the powernode back to the shop where i bought it. They tried it in the shop but nothing came out of the amplifier.
They said never ahd they experienced this before. So they gave me a new one which was a simple plug and play when i came home. ( REALLY PLEASED WITH THE POWERNODE)
No idea what was wrong with it.

I have this problem too. no amp to the speakers. only low pass rumble from the sub woofer. I will try the 5 minutes plug out the wall tip.

no result. I did notice very faint sound coming from the speakers, but only with my ear by the speakers. I Tried other speakers, and speaker wire with no result.

Just started experiencing this on an N330 with an analog audio input (from an Android streaming box) after upgrade to 3.0.25.

Yes. I might be responding to the wrong thread here, I thought this one discussed the same issue as https://support1.bluesound.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/4404858454039-Low-volume-from-Powernode-2i-using-HDMI but now I see this one had no sound at all, whereas the other was an HDMI input. So I'm experiencing a problem but probably different from either one of these. :-)

A power cycle was tried already and had no effect; I'll try another cable/tomorrow and post the results.

Hi Adrian
A replacement cable will not fix your issue. Similar to the link you have above, Streaming Services directly integrated will have louder input gain and original source will be louder as they are mixed louder. When using external inputs like line level input, consider a preset and boosting the volume when creating that preset - or use the sources on your Android Box services that are directly integrated with BluOS and compare.
support@bluesound.com will be happy to assist here.

Thanks, tried a different analog source and same result. Is it expected an external optical source will show the same behavior?

Can confirm, using an optical digital source has the same low volume. I'm wondering whether Bluesound would consider adding a toggle option under Source customization to add a fixed gain? I've seen this exact feature for example on a Sennheiser wireless headphone base station I have, and given that Bluesound already supports gain adjustments for metadata-containing sources it should be be comprehensible to users.
