Coax has stopped working on Node 2i
AnsweredThe Coax out has stopped working on my Node 2i. I have submitted a report via the app, but wondering if anyone out there in the community has found a way to solve this whilst I wait on my ticket being replied to. There was another thread about this, but it has been 'closed' so I cannot comment on it....
This is the third time in 3 weeks - the other 2 times I reset and rejigged everything, removed and re-connected the cables, etc, and something I did made it start working again after time.
Now it has fully broken and the same jigging isn't fixing it.
I have tried 2x different high quality coax cables, so it isn't the cable.
I have tried cables direct into dac, and via an ifi spdif iPurifier and both the DAC and purifier show no incoming signal, so it is not the DAC incoming coax connection that is broken. DAC working fine with other inputs also.
I have done several factory resets with and without the cable attached.
Common denominator is the coax out of Node 2i.
(This is actually second major problem in 11 months; having had to return a previous unit to your uk distributor due to very loud high frequency noise. Really disappointed)

Hello Graeme,
It's pretty rare to hear just the Coax out of the NODE failing while the other outputs work. With the way the board is, it's usually an all-or-nothing kind of deal.
Looks like you've sent in a support request today; a member of the support crew will be in touch to investigate further.

Thanks for your reply.
Whilst I bow to your superior knowledge on the Node 2i over my own and accept that it might be rare (due to the way the board is), it's certainly not unknown. The thread I include in the link below (which you were part of) shows three other Node 2i owners with the same problem as mine within the last 12 months. With the thread being 'closed' I was unable to comment there or ask any of them what the resolution was.

You've replied to me once, and then not again a second time.
Your reply was a reply, it was not an answer to the problem. This thread would not be helpful to someone else trying to use the support forums to solve their own similar issue.
I haven't had a reply from my support ticket that I submitted a week ago.

I think Node2 is fantastic, but the support service is very bad and not interested in solving the problems of the owners who bought this equipment!
On a trip I bought my Bluesound Node 2, after a period the coaxial digital output also stopped working (the optical output worked normally) I contacted the technical support who, after knowing I was in anoter country, simply abandoned me with mine problem, they said I would have to solve it with the Brazilian representative! Fortunately, in the last update, the coaxial dog output has returned to work!0 -
This problem with the interruption of the signal in the coaxial output, seems to be intermittent, mine goes back and forth, without the Bluesound support being interested in giving a solution to the problem!

I everybody ,is the problem resolved? Cause I just got a used Node 2i and I have the same problem . Optical works fine coax no. The same cable from my cd transport works fine.
