    Hi Tony,

I have done as you suggest Tony, but what is this board for?? I understood that this is Bluesound support. If that is the case wouldn't it just be expedient to forward my email to escalate directly to the correct person?? Its just underlining already bad customer service. Soz, I appreciate this may only be what you have been asked to say but why is it like this??

    Hi Trevor

The 'correct person' is a team of many individuals trained to help you with your specific problem and may require direct troubleshooting.

This feedback channel is simply that. Thanks for understanding.

OK so I'm feedback that I think this Red light issue has gone on for way longer than it should and I think those experiencing it could have received better support if the matter was referred to support@ directly after posting here. I appreciate you could just refer back to the customer but why not help him/her and do it directly, just sayin' !!!

    Regards

    Hello
I got also that red solid light of death. Changed the most common two capacitors on the PSU and still no results. I have written to the support and waiting for the firmware. I have checked the others capacitors and seems that they are ok. I measured also the current. There is about 25mA from the 230V grid (in my place something about 240V). If I will got the information about the voltages on the Pinouts from the PSU I think it will also helps

    Hi one and all,
After receiving no support, yep I was referred to my dealer who would have needed to charge for a fix, I opted to purchase my own psu update. I have the PD creative psu now and it not only fixed the red light issue but I have a distinct sonic benefit too. This is not just a maybe my wife noticed the difference without being promoted.

It is clear the psu is the root cause of the red light issue during many updates, bluesound need to man up, admit the issue, and advise the solution even if it means an after market addition. Users would appreciate the honesty in sure. The Node was clearly built to a price and a problem exists.
Right now now I’m really happy with the product but not Bluesound support.

Mine wend red light solid over a week ago and BS support has not responded to my ticket yet. Very disappointing. I woud not recommend any of my fellow audiophiles to buy Bluesound, since there are many other similar quality products available with hopefully better support

So as I now encounter this red light issue- am I correct in saying that BS issued an “upgrade” that has rendered my unit useless?
Where’s the fix? I have to pay someone to set this right? What am I not getting?

Guys, be persistent with BS. I had the same problem and they sent me a prepaid shipping label to return my faulty Powernode 2 and then sent me a recondition model 3.

It will be nice if somebody let me know what are the correct voltage levels at the pinouts from the PSU. I got information from diffrent sources that there are correct and from second source that they are not correct. There are two plugs: 9 and 2 pins. Thank You. The third source want me to send the device to them but I want to try to fix or at least understand it by myself.

    Best regards

    Hi Malcolm

As stated, for safety reasons, Bluesound does not recommend you altering your player. Please continue to work with SevenOaks if they are your point of purchase. Otherwise speak with our Distributor Anatech Solutions (https://www.anatech.co.uk/) if purchased elsewhere. Also note that the NODE 2 was discontinued in early 2018 and replaced with the NODE 2i so you are likely out of warranty. That being said you are in good hands with your Authorised Reseller at SevenOaks or if Purchased elsewhere, your Authorised Distributor, Anatech.

    Hi Steve

So as you are not handy with a soldering iron (the caps in the common fault are a little fiddly to remove, but I managed successfully to fix my system for £10.46 [as the min purchase quantity was 10]). I think you will be interested in the response I had from the UK Sevenoaks retailer as follows:

We are prepared to try and accommodate as near to trade price costs the repair of the faulty Node 2 unit you have. This is the estimate. (assuming replacement of capacitors only).

To replace a with uprated capacitors we are looking at around £48.00 plus carriage fee’s. (Allow around £21.00) this includes transportation to the service centre and return. The stuck on red light symptom has many possible causes,  one of which is cheaper to fix than the other  (hopefully a software issue and corrected once capacitors replaced) By far, the most likely fix is to replace the two suspect capacitors. Above prices include vat.

Our service manager says “If the customer wants to repair it themselves by replacing the capacitors that’s fine, but it would be at their own risk, and it will be more expensive for us to sort it if it isn’t successful”.

    End of quote

There is the third party upgrade which does not require a soldering iron at a cost of about £91 +VAT+carriage. But I didn't need that, so I have no experience of that

    Hope this helps

    Hi Steve,
I went the capacitor replacement route when my unit was under warrantee, also with Sevenoaks Sound, great guys!
The problem reoccurred a couple years later after warrantee ran out.
I fixed by purchasing the DP creative replacement power supply. I haven’t had a problem since. I also got very noticeable sonic improvement, would recommend this.
Can’t recall exact price but google DP Creative and node 2 should find all you need.
It replaces the internal PCB which then allows an external switch mode power supply to be connected (comes with one of two available psi’s
