Playlist issues
AnsweredI'm a noob, so apologies if this is all obvious. But I'm having a difficult time with a bunch of things that ought to be simple. (I'm primarily using Mac OSX for UI, but have tried IOS for these things as well, with the same unsatisfactory results.)
1) How do I re-order a playlist? I saw some discussion saying that I need to put the playlist into the queue and reorder it there, then save it as a new playlist. But (a) that seems like a crazy limitation of the software, and (b) after I performed the most recent update, I can't figure out how to add a playlist to the queue. (I was able to do it before, though it was so laggy that I'm still not sure how.)
2) How do I delete a song from a playlist? The online instructions I have seen suggest that there should be a "delete" option from the pull-down, but it isn't there for me.
3) When I access my library on my iPad or iPhone, I can see the contents of the network share library, but I can't see my playlists.
And while I'm at it..
3) How do I make connection to a network share persistent? Every time I re-start the OSX app, I have to re-connect to my network share.
Thanks!

Hello Steinberg,
1) You are correct that playlists must be edited through the play queue at this time. We have received similar feedback from other users to improve the functionality of playlist editing and our Quality Assurance team are currently looking into alternative ways to do so for future firmware updates.
2) If you are using the BluOS mobile app from a phone or tablet, clear your current play queue, load the playlist you would like to edit to your play queue, then select the 3 lines with a pencil to enable editing. From here you can then select the trash can icon or the red circle with a white line to remove these songs from your current play queue. From the desktop app you can simply right click and delete these songs. Once you are finished making your edits, select the 3 lines with the down arrow from your play queue to save this play queue as a playlist and provide it with the same name to overwrite your previous playlist.
3) The playlists you are unable to see, are they ones populated from your network share? If these are iTunes playlists saved on your computer, iTunes has recently made some changes to how their playlists work through iTunes and these playlists will need to be exported from iTunes as m3u files to allow BluOS to be able to access them.

As for your last question, any streaming service credentials, network shares, player names, presets or playlists should all be retained through a reboot. If you are losing any of this information, please send us a diagnostic log from your player by going to Help > Send Support Request through the BluOS app so a member of our support team can look into this further for you.

Wow it's been four years since this one was answered and no improvement? We used to be able to rearrange songs in playlists as-is - no need to put into play queue. In fact, It's an absurd amount of extra work to have to use the play queue as the vehicle to edit a play list. What if I am already playing something, I now need to stop that clear the queue load the playlist add and then move things around. Then I habe to save it back with the same name as before, and be careful about it lest I create another playlist, and if I do get it right I am not asked if I want to overwrite the original. Bad UX. Ugh. I can walk and chew gum at the same time; BS should be able to let me play music while curating other playlists.
Really, we should be able to edit a playlist in-situ. The current method is way too cumbersome. Unecessarily complex and involved.
thanks,
JP
