How to display sample rate, bit depth, and file type on all controllers?
Hi,
I have a node 2i and I am really happy with it. I have Tidal hifi and Deezer hifi subscriptions. I understand there are icons that are supposed to show the type of file and quality being played but it is not exactly useful since they're just icons and they are too generic.
I use the Android and Windows desktop controllers. I would like to see the exact file type, sample rate, and bit depth for every song being played. If this is already available somehow, can you please explain where I can find it?
If it is not already present, I think this is a really important feature that ought to be added. I have had Tidal hifi for a while but my Deezer hifi account is new. When I use the Deezer desktop app, the sound quality settings don't seem to have any effect according to my Oppo 205 USB DAC. So BluOs could be really helpful in letting us know what we're paying for!
I posted this in general because it applies to multiple controllers. I'm sorry if this is not the appropriate subforum.
Thanks.

Just got a NAD M10 over Christmas, and shocked to find out the on BluOS, basic bit rate information is not even available, so I immediately googled and found this thread.
Right away there is a misleading answer on top from 3 years ago that made people think that "Technical Info" is actually available. Only when you read further that you realize this feature is not available.
What's going on here? I don't like what I am seeing! Is this an indication of the rest of how BlueOS functions?

Please add full technical details in the app about what the Bluesound devices are streaming.

Bluesound in not answering to customers of this thread. I changed device: you can try Wiim Mini or Pro, cheaper and better if you only need digital streaming like me.

I was excited upon getting my v3 Node and was looking for this exact feature. A quick web search led me here. While it's disappointing the feature wasn't and isn't included, it's fairly outrageous Bluesound hasn't respond to these many, many posts. Fairly or not, my impression of this company I've only recently become a customer of is now degraded. I mean seriously. Even a quick statement saying they have no plans on including this would be better than radio silence.

Too expensive for the programmers to add features? It’s better to not say anything so competitors won’t copy? The features are coming to v4.0 of BluOS? Nobody cares except a few of us who bothered to post here?
These speculation or dismay would be negated if there’s a response from BlueSound. Yes, Blursound Team, please respond.

Coming back here because of email notification. Replied to this thread to ask on the same thing many years ago when I first got my Node2i. If I'm not mistaken this features was available even before I got my unit, and then it was removed. I believe Bluesound unable to deliver the high bitrate from provider like TIDAL, Qobuz, etc hence removing it completely to avoid backlash.
None of the staff dare to respond here. That speaks volumes. Just remove all the misleading "high definition" wording from all of your ads if you can't deliver. Bad marketing tactics.

I sold my Node 130 and got the £89 WiiM mini
Game changing 👍

I'm ready to give up and sell my Node2i. What would be the closest alternative that shows the quality of all music played regardless of the sources? I would need at least an ethernet port, optical in, and RCA out.
Thanks!
PS: I just noticed the WiiM Pro recommendation in the thread. It has all the features I need and does show sample rate etc. It also costs 1/3 of the Node.
The reviews are not too excited about the quality though: https://www.audiosciencereview.com/forum/index.php?threads/wiim-pro-review-measurements-streamer.42300/
But the reviews for 2021 Node or Node 2i are not much better: https://www.audiosciencereview.com/forum/index.php?threads/bluesound-node-review-streamer.25578/

March is gone, any chance we will see this in April, or anytime soon?

11 days left. About time... It's very strange that the possibility to get information about streaming quality should be such a big secret. "Fear of cluttering the display" is just bollocks
