The WiiM arrived and wow, even setting aside the Qobuz Connect bit, Qobuz is SO MUCH BETTER even in the native WiiM app compared to Bluesound. Can’t speak to sonic differences, but I don’t have a super high-end system. Sounds good enough to my ears.

Pretty poor that it still hasn't been introduced really, and because Bluos doesn't support upnp or chromecast (as suggested by Qobuz) we can't use apps such as mconnect either. But then if a Bluos Qobuz connect is as flaky as its tidal connect, for which far more often than not I simply cannot get the Tidal app to see my Nad C399 (and my support request on this was ignored) we are not missing much.

The list of Qobuz connect partners is growing. Will we hear any news from team about our products? So far the only devices I own without the connect feature are my BluOS units. I was shocked to see my 5 year old marantz supported faster than my newer Nads.

I just discovered Qobuz Connect and I thought, oh well, I'll see if Bluesound is going to integrate it.

And then I read you. And now I'm angry, angry too.

It's not like Spotify has been offering Connect for over 5 years...oh wait.

Luckily Qobuz offers unlimited shuffle...oh wait.

At least Qobuz is the cheapest...oh wait.

Qobuz Connect has been around for 2 hours, in beta, and I demand it on Bluesound within the next 15 minutes.

In the meantime, I'm going to listen to some country music.

No company will ever top Sonos as the most massive fail in streamer software update history. But Bluesound you are in the convo for second place… very sad.

mt7663009 - bluos devices are premium in their category. I don't think it's that much to ask if they have a timeline for a feature smaller companies have already implemented. With the average cost of their devices I have to imagine some of that profit could go to a more active RnD than rather than the marketing team.

Definitely needed. The native Qobuz app will always provide a better user experience that BluOS for e.g liner notes or credits, so it's really an essential feature.

Lester - I understand, but Bluesound isn't Sonos either.

And in the long list circulating, from what I understand, several of them haven't implemented it, but plan to; that's a big difference.

Anyway, Bluesound said they were going to implement it, so that won't keep me up at night until then.

I wasn't aiming at you, I just find that some people are very intense in their reactions because they don't have it there, there.

That looks promising. They show the icon active in the qobuz app. I would just like to know that it will happen. I have been waiting for dlbc for my m10v2 's. I think they may have given up on that since the v3 launch  sadly.

I fire up my Qobuz app, and I can see my Eversolo but not my Node. Slow to implement much requested functionality from the high-res crowd + an arrogant and dismissive brand manager. Time to replace the Node with an Eversolo.

Qobuz Connect was made available on WiiM devices about ten days ago. Works fine.

I am feeling so frustrated to read all articles about this launch, about other saying how great this works, about trying to justify bluesound offering other great things but little by little the engagement is wearing and I found myself again looking for any alternative having Dirac live integration. Because this is the only thing retaining me right now unfortunately.
And honestly, it is not really that Qobuz is not available.
It is the lack of consideration, the no plan and the feeling to be an a very closed environment.
Yell us a date, tell us that you have underestimate or even missed this great feature coming and I will be all good with being more patient.
When important topic at work, I have always found that over communication was a great tool to keep customer.
Hope this message find you well.

Qobuz connect was released today. Sadly, Bluesound was not on the list of providers. What’s your ETA for when Bluesound will support Qobuz connect?

    6
  • Pehr Johnsson

Niklas: They don’t have a plan yet.

It is official now, Qobuz Connect is live and.... Bluesound not part of the list of manufacturers included in the 1st wave. Very disappointing !

Unlike some others, I find the BluOS app for my NAD M10 absolutely inadequate. The terrible response times alone when streaming with Qobuz! And that's not down to Qobuz, because on my WiiM devices everything runs without any delays in the WiiM app. Apart from that, there are many other shortcomings in the BluOS app compared to the WiiM app.

Qobuz Connect is exactly what I've been waiting for for a very long time. If nothing changes, I too will say goodbye to NAD.

The frequency of BluOS updates is also subterranean. My NAD M10 was one of the very first devices. Updates were and are very sporadic, even though there is so much to optimise.

Why is it apparently so easy for multiple other manufacturers to add Qobuz Connect functionality and yet either beyond the capabilities or just not a high priority for Bluesound? This is extremely disappointing. To not make this a priority is not a good look for your company.

Hi Andrew, your statement is a little bit generic. It would be nice to have a more precise deadline estimation (weeks, months?). Many competitors are up and running after several month of testing. I deem Qobuz Connect as a significant leap, allowing for a meaninful increase of user experience. Thank you, Giovanni

Quite aggravating that this thread is blowing up with disappointed buyers, yet communication from the Bluesound team on how and when BluOS aims to resolve the issue is vague, slow, infrequent and -most importantly- in the same style as earlier communications that turned out to be false. For such premium hi-end devices this is truly a shame.

Saying "we're working on many things" is like telling a customer waiting for his car to be serviced "sorry, but we have many cars to service before"… This is not the customer problem !

    David Solomon (today on fb):

I understand from their engineers that Connect should launch in September. Their head engineer, Andrew Hanes told me this yesterday when I asked him directly.

Rino - that is good to hear. Still surprised how slow they are to update but some news is better than no news.

Disappointing. I was about to buy some bluesound connected speakers to pair with my Node with the Connect announcement. Glad I’m getting out of this ecosystem before I spent the money.

Or it was just a answer to avoid an argument?

Hi all, while I'm usually happy to accept some delays to feature additions, given how many manufacturers have already "pulled the finger out" to add Qobuz Connect, I'm less than impressed with Bluesound's mañana attitude of "we have a lot in play right now".

Tbh, it might seem favourites are being played as Tidal etc al are already available.

Shame on you Bluesound - my NAD C700 was expensive and it's money wasted if you can't offer these improvements as evidenced by the number of unhappy commenters shows.

    Get a move on please.

The response from Bluesound is jaw-dropping. The list of brands that already support Qobuz Connect is extensive, yet Bluesound didn't bother to prioritize this long-awaited feature? This tells me that Bluesound is deeply unserious about competing in the hi-fi market.

I have a pair of Node 2i devices which I'll now be putting up for sale. A vague promise of "someday" supporting Qobuz Connect is totally unacceptable. Won't be buying anything with the BluOS engine (NAD etc) going forward.

It's disappointing to see that BluOS is not on the list of Qobuz Connect partners. I'm sure you are well aware of this omission, especially since Qobuz Connect was announced almost a year ago.

Perhaps there are technical challenges specific to your hardware, or maybe key developers have left, taking valuable knowledge with them. Alternatively, you might be working on an even more amazing feature that makes Qobuz Connect seem less significant. Mistakes, problems, or contingencies happen—that's life.

Some transparency on this matter would be greatly appreciated. Without any information, it's quite concerning.

ST, I totally agree. I paid $600 for the BluOS module of my NAD C399 DAC, and wish I had not. I’d have bought a WiiM Pro instead, their app is so much better to use vs BluOS, and they have Qobuz Connect now.
