Volume level per input/source

Hello Rémi, my tv also makes it switch automatically to the HDMI eARC, but still the volume level is either to high or to low depending on the direction of the switch.
The is mainly because I watch tv via satellite and the volume output of the satellite receiver is to low.

Hi Tony - the preset idea doesn’t work for two reasons - 1) the Bluesound Volume is the one that is too low requiring the master system volume on my amp to be set at a very high level. Even if I set a preset at 100% it wouldn’t make a difference. 2) I usually connect via airplay on my phone and the source isn’t always from the Bluesound app. My own recordings in Voice Notes, for example.
If I crank up the master volume for the node the problem is what happens when I then select another source and its blasts at crazy volume. I need to turn my amp to a pretty extreme volume setting to hear the node.
    Thanks

    Hi @Tony-W,

I very excitedly bought the new Node N132 and I am loving it! I would also like to advocate for a per input signal gain feature. Which would make the product perfect.

I know some features could be hard to rework/refactor. Best of luck, looking forward for this feature and I hope it can be done.

I find the greatest utility of the Node N132 as a preamp-streamer going into my Rotel RB-1552 Mk II.

    Regards
    Andrew

Same problem. Had hoped the latest update might contain a fix, but no. Really hoping for this feature soon

It's such a shame—a product with so much potential ruined by a missing feature. What's the point of having auto-sense to switch sources without using the app if you still have to open the app to adjust the volume? Please, do something to address this missing feature.

Wow, totally agree with all the feedback given here by al these users. I’m really happy with my brand new Powernode in general, but this standard output level per input source is the first thing that that quite annoys me. And beside the fact apparently nothing changed the last 4 years reading this whole topic, also Spotify screwed up their volume control on iOS recently. Are these companies even trying to improve their products for us, or only busy screwing each other being competitors?

@Bluesound: at least have the decency to explain us why this feature isn’t or can’t be fixed somehow by you. Is the reason is something out of your control or influence? At least we deserve to know something more, don’t you think? Thanks.

    Hello,
I add myself to the long list of people who complain and do not understand how in 2025 the Blue OS team cannot correct this anomaly while other products exist on the market and work like the fire of God like the WiiM.
But do something for us consumers and stop talking about alternative workarounds. It is painful on a daily basis to juggle between different sources and to worry about how the sound will come out screaming if we go from the TV to Tidal, it is just shameful not to bring us solutions !!!! I will change manufacturer for a better product because I am angry !!!!

Please solve this issue! I have a Bluesound system for one week now and this is a very annoying problem. I read that this issue is already 4 years old and for me it is incredible that such a simple problem is not solved yet. I don't understand that. I have more complaints about the app, but this is for me the main issue.

It is pretty poor really that an organisation like this cannot respond to customer demand for improvement to their product. With such negative feedback going on for so long it certainly can't be doing their brand any favours. With this information publicly available consumers are fully informed on how they treat their customers feedback and their ability to respond to development improvements, both of which are poor.

+1 Just wanted to add my 2p worth and ask for this feature. I've had a couple of systems in the past which allow input gains (Linn stands out in particular) and I've had to resort to workarounds which are never as good as the actual feature.

    Please Bluesound, listen.

Same issue here. Bought the node for all the features it offers, but this is such a QOL miss...

I’ve resorted to a Home Assistant automation for this, initially based on the input, then based on whether I’m in a ‘watch’ or a ‘listen’ mode. Works very well and grateful for an excellent Bluesound integration, but missing feature.

Would you mind sharing more details?
I have never used home assistant so I am not sure where to start

Any updates on this? Seems like a top feature request.

I came across this post when trying to setup my node icon. The arc volume is considerably lower than the roon ready source. So switching between the inputs is annoying due to the volume discrepancy. Given that this was originally requested 4 years ago I had no confidence that it was ever going to be fixed. So I returned the node and got a WiiM Ultra. It seems WiiM are for more receptive to user requests than bluesound and provide better value for money.

Wanted to chime in on this as someone who was put off Bluesound entirely based on this issue.

We ended up not buying a single device we demo'd solely because of this volume problem; it's common in other gear, and even very old gear often has Trim levels for different inputs at the very least, if not volume memory.

This is bonkers in this day and age, and the response from Bluesound in this thread is completely tonedeaf to the actual problem.

And before Bluesound can chime in again, no the "preset workaround" does not solve the problem for people.

I can't believe they still ignore this. I love my C700, but this is just not acceptable. And now that I needed a streaming solution for my office, it was totally clear to me that it would not be Bluesound or NAD. So I went with a WIIM Amp Pro. Just testing it out, and it sounds amazing with my old Dynaudio Excite X12s. And the app is just great. But does it have volume/gain presets per input, for 25% of the C700s price? You bet it has... and not just that, but even EQ per Input.

Wiim is amazing. They releases new version of app/firmware almost weekly to monthly. Every time I reported small/big issues, they addressed it in the next release.

I deeply regret my decision of moving to nad although I really love the sound of my M33.

+1 to WiiM. We ended up getting Cambridge Audio gear for most of the things and rooms we were evaluating bluesound and bluos devices for, but still have some WiiMs that are just fantastic.

Just another user here trying to get Bluesound to finally make this feature happen.
