Thanks for your kind words Andrew

In a number of our Music Service implementations, we will show blocks of results. If not all is there, keep scrolling and it should appear as more results are populated.

If however, this is not working, please select Help, Send Support Request in the App so we may take a closer look. Be sure in your Description to mention what platform your App is on (iPhone/Android/Windows/MacOS)

I’m dropping this query here as I believe it’s related.

I purchased a Node 2i specifically so I can stream Idagio lossless classical albums. I find the 30 album limitation on the iOS app cumbersome. Although I have a few hundred albums listed as “favourites” in my Idagio collections, the Bluesound iOS app only allows me to access the most recent 30 albums. If I want to play an album outside the most recent 30, I need to: exit the iOS app, enter the Idagio app, find the favourite album I want to listen to, unselect it as a favourite, re-select it as a favourite, exit the Idagio app, re-enter the iOS app, and then I can play the album.

Extending or preferably eliminating the 30 album minimum on the BluOS app would make the user experience significantly less frustrating for what is otherwise a superb device and interface.

I’m using the iOS app (3.14.0) on an iPad and iPhone, with the Node 2i (3.14.5).

I’m running the iOS app (3.14.0) with the Node 21 (BluOS 3.14.5).

This is exactly my problem, although you describe it much more accurate detail.

I received an off-line response from tech support saying that this is indeed a known issue, an unintentional cap at 30 albums.  My understanding is that they are working on it, but it is not resolved.

    Thanks Andrew.

Another option might be to allow the user to “cast” to the Node 2i directly from within the Idagio app the way Spotify allows it. Although it’s more convenient to do everything from within the Bluesound iOS app, the Bluesound app lacks some of the album information (composers, performers, booklets, etc.) that the Idagio app offers. The ability to view an album in the Idagio app and simply hit “play” would be nice. But I’d be content with simply increasing the album cap within the Bluesound iOS app for now.

This problem was reported a year ago.

It seems like Bluesound isn't interested to resolve issues, and is simply pushing out firmware updates for new features.

Why a simple issue of incomplete collections listing can't be resolved in more than a year is beyond comprehension. Did you guys forget to handle a scrolling event? Or is this an issue with IDAGIO APIs?

"Or is this an issue with IDAGIO APIs?"

It is... we have reported it to Idagio. it is a limit of licensing on some pieces...

Thank you for your response Tony, but I (and I’m sure the others who have brought this to your attention) are confused how this could be a licensing issue. The issue is that the the Bluesound app appears to restrict Idagio’s My Music/Albums to the first 30 albums. Although, in my Idagio collection, I currently have 208 albums selected as favourites, I can only see the first 30 in the Bluesound iOS app. Moreover, the first 30 albums in the Bluesound app are identical to the first 30 in the Idagio app. It’s not a matter of “some” albums missing because a licensing issue, but “all” albums after the initial 30 missing.

Also, in the “Discover” section, we can see 65 albums listed, the same 65 albums listed in the Idagio app. If this is a licensing issue, why would we see all 65 albums in the Discover section but only the first 30 in the MyMusic/Albums list? This doesn’t make any sense. Again, from a user perspective, it makes it cumbersome and time-consuming to need to keep jumping back and forth between apps while deleting and re-liking just to be able to play a favourite selection.

I will contact Idagio as well, as you suggest, to determine if it is Idagio who is restricting the MyMusic/Albums list and post their response here, if that is acceptable.

    Thanks — Roland.

Addendum to my above post, I contacted Idagio and received a reply (excerpted below). Hopefully Bluesound will offer a fix in their next software update.

    From Idagio:

Thank you for your message, and please accept my apologies for this inconvenience.

We are aware of this issue and the current ongoing discussion around it. However, I can assure you that this issue is not due to a licensing issue on our part.

As several other users have brought this up, we contacted Bluesound directly this week. I was told by the Bluesound support staff that this limit of 30 albums is done for memory management reasons, and that the remaining albums should load within seconds when scrolling further down. However, having tested this on several different devices I can confirm that this does not do anything to show the remaining albums. Upon inquiry about this I was told that their "QA Team is reviewing it and hopes to resolve it in a near-future software update."

    Hi Roland

As mentioned we are aware of the 30 search results issue and are looking to resolve that - the issue as you described were portions of the list were missing - that would be something else. If I misinterpreted the way you presented it my apologies., That being said, some services do have that limitation.

Thanks for the clarification and yes this is an issue we are describing.

Please feel free to clarify if it's the portions are missing or if you are only seeing the first 30. If you are seeing only the first 30, please scroll through the whole playlist, as you get to the bottom, the next 30 will load. Once you have the whole list, then add it.

This is not a solution, this is a workaround until we are able to resolve the issue permanently. Thanks for your patience and understanding.

Thank you for your reply Tony. There are a few people posting on this topic, so that may be where the miscommunication occurs. And, just to be clear, I’m talking about full Albums and not Playlists made up of tracks. Specifically: BluOS App / Idagio / My Music / Albums.

And, yes, I am still only seeing the first 30 albums. As per your suggestion, I scrolled to the bottom of the album selections and no further albums loaded, not matter what I tried (waiting for five minutes, swiping up, etc.). Again, I’m talking about Albums and not Playllists here.

I’m using all the latest available software updates (iOS App 3.14.1, BluOS 3.14.5, Idagio App 1.37.1).

Thank you again for all your help. As I mentioned to an Idagio representative, the Bluesound Node 2i and Idagio would be a match made in heaven if not for this one frustrating issue.

    Roland.

    Thanks, Roland

Our QA Team is looking into it. We hope to resolve it in a near-future software release.

More than 2 years have passed since this (and more than 4 years since the first Idagio integration) and this very basic issue has not been fixed...

Yeah, the whole IDAGIO experience is sub par on Bluesound. I’m tempted to get a Sonos streamer device just to hook to my stereo for Idagio.

You know, I love using IDAGIO through Bluesound stereo because I like supporting IDAGIO (vs. Apple Classical) and because in principle you have the entire history of recorded classical music at your fingertips.

But Bluesound, could we please look at this issue again?  There must be a simple coding solution at your end or at IDAGIO's that you could help them with.  It's to both your advantages to make it as seamless an experience as possible.  For some queries the IDAGIO data delivers more than thirty search results through Bluesound software.  But not for Albums!  Which is the way most of us think about organizing favorites, I'd bet.

A recent New Yorker article by Alex Ross touted IDAGIO as the best place for classical streaming.

    Thank you!!!
