Right USB hard drive for backing up Vault 2

Hi, I want to back up my Vault 2. Having read How do I Backup the Music on my Vault? (Backup Music Library) – The Bluesound Support Crew, it seems straightforward. However, I am not sure what a "powered external 2TB USB hard drive" is. Is it one that has a wall plug, or a battery one that is fully charged - or something else?

Would something like Toshiba HDTB420EK3AA Canvio Basics 2TB Portable External Hard Drive USB 3.0: Amazon.co.uk: Computers & Accessories work?

  Hi Alastair, 

  There's a more preferred method of VAULT backup: access the VAULT's internal hard drive from your computer so you can simply copy-paste the contents onto a backup USB drive. This way, you don't need to worry much about compatibility and such -- as long as your computer can read the USB, you're good to go. 

  Our article here outlines in detail how to access the hard drive of your VAULT depending on what kind of computer you're using, and at the very end it mentions backing up the files.
