Is It Feasible to Hack Together a Quad System?
AnsweredI want to use a non-Bluesound component (the Surround Master by Involve Audio) to derive quad from stereo and send to 4 Bluesound speaker/players. Is the following set up feasible?
- Files on NAS are “played” to a Node.
- The Node analog output connects to the Surround Master input.
- The front channel output of the Surround Master connects to one of two Bluesound Hubs.
- The rear channel output of the Surround Master connects to the second Bluesound Hub.
- Two Pulse Flexes in a stereo group play the front channel from the first Hub.
- Another two Pulse Flexes in a stereo group play the rear channel from the second Hub.
Can the BluOS controller manage playing this configuration?

It would be roughly the same price, maybe cheaper given the cost of other parts and would be way less of a hassle and far more reliable to simply buy a SOUNDBAR and 2 FLEXes rather than the solution you are suggesting which may or may not work.

I would look for an alternative solution as this would be costly to try and most importantly the two sets of Flex’s playing stereo would not be in sync as you have two stereo outputs. Bluesound can of course sync multiple devices but from a single stereo stream.
