Controlling Amplifier Volume over TV with Node's HDMI Arc

You won’t be able to control the volume of the stereo amplifier directly.

However if you set the NODE to use variable output the TVs remote control (when using the HDMI ARC input on the NODE) will then let you control the volume level that goes from the NODE to your amplifier.

Thank you very much for your timely response. I think I understand. Just to clarify:
Practically this would mean, that if I set the amplifier volume to a certain level, for example 50 percent (half power), even full (could be dangerous for the speakers though), I will be able to vary the output volume to my speakers via the TV remote? For my understanding, the Node will have variable output, and not the max fixed output, which will controll the amount of power which is given to the amplifier, thus limiting amplifiers output to the speakers to the level the Node is passing to it? Thank you!

Yes, this is correct, it will not work on any other amplifier inputs only the one with the NODE connected.

Hallo again, I have bumped into another issue. When the Node 130 outputs to an external DAC (ADI RME-2 FS) the Node's volume seemes to be fixed. This means, that controlling its volume over the HDMI eArc input with the TV remote is impossible. In the options menu of the Node there is no possibility to set the volume to variable or fixed when the Node outputs digital signal to an external DAC, am I Wright? Thank you.

Try powering off he NODE for 10 mins as you should have the option of both fixed and variable output. However if using a USB DAC the volume will be fixed.
