Small issue - occasional drop outs

This is only a very minor issue but I thought I would ask the Q....
My Powernode is linked to our BT Router via an extender disc and it works perfectly - until there is an occasional drop out in the signal. Very occasionally when the Extender fails, for whatever reason, the Powernode then automatically connects to the router (rather than the Extender) which has a much weaker signal in that particular room. So when I notice this on the Bluos app, I just re-enter the password into the app and it then links up to the extender (which has an excellent signal) all fine.
Is there a way of making it automatically connect to the extender rather than the router? Or will it just connect to whatever is the strongest signal when there is an outage?
I read this article from Tech Hive and wondered if I should do this ie. set it to the same IP address? Although tbh this may not be relevant as the Powernode is still connected to the Wi-Fi albeit with a much weaker signal .

"The Powernode also reacts poorly to network outages. Even short breaks caused it to lose its connection to my Xfinity XB7 gateway, which meant I could no longer control the player via Android, iOS, or Windows until I rebooted everything.
Happily, there is an easy fix for this. Go into your router’s user interface (or ask Bluesound’s tech-support team to do it for you) and reserve the IP address assigned to the Powernode. That change made a world of difference for me, changing my outlook from “Enough already!” to “I could happily live with this.” The apps on my Lenovo laptop, iMac desktop, Samsung Galaxy Note 8, and iPad now all run smooth and super quick. I’m still encountering the occasional app lockup on my iPhone X, but Bluesound told me “we’re looking into it. We’re never finished tweaking this product.”

No, the client will connect to "anything" as long as the signal is "strong enough". Best practice is to "tune" your wireless network. Most likely your BT router should be tuned to a lower output.

Thank you. That's answered my question. It's not really an issue as I get no down time. It was more out of interest really.
Just glad I didn't mess around with the settings on my router (that I don't really understand) and then really make a problem for myself.!!0
