Bluesound - Node: Ethernet connection does not work BluOS version 3.18.7
BeantwortetBluesound - Node: Can connect over WiFi only.
1. Disappears from the app if connected over ethernet. When the ethernet cable is attached the app started "Discovering".
Works over WiFi.
BluOS version 3.18.7. App version 3.18.0 Build Number 2677
I used the cable supplied with the device and my own.
2. No security (user/password) at all and connect to device possible over http protocol. Must be redirected to HTTPS! Currently, anyone in the range can control the device.....

Hi Vladimir,
Double-check your router configuration if the firewall is separating your wireless and wired network. See also if your wireless is configured as a guest network. The GUEST network normally separates it from the local network but can get access to the internet.
Thanks for #LivingHiFi -
Double-check your router configuration - 10-15 times
if the firewall is separating your wireless and wired network. - NO
if your wireless is configured as a guest network - NO.
I connect the device ethernet to the same router which provides WiFi. No iptables. This network is internal so nothing.
Can you please check if BluOS version 3.18.7 works with ethernet.1 -
once the ethernet cable is unplugged it is discovered in the app within seconds.

Hi Vladimir,
Yes, 3.18.7 works with ethernet. Try replacing your ethernet cable. The issue lies in your local network.
If that does not work, send a support request to support@bluesound.com0 -
Hello
Any feedback on this I am facing the same issue
Thanks

Hi, exactly the same issue I have with this OS version. Could you kindly provide a step-by-step instruction HOW I should setup the Node with Ethernet connection? Should the Node also connect to my wifi network or just the wired ? Vladimir and Jeega, did you solve the problem somehow, or get any help? Thanks

Not sure what could be wrong with the local network. When I connect the ethernet cable the light turns to blinking green and for some time I see the ethernet connection and even can open the folder and start playing a song but after some time it stops playing and the device disappears from the device list and I have neither ethernet nor wifi any more until I remove the ethernet cable. I gave up actually and decided to go with wifi thinking that my cable or device connector is bad... I tried several cables including the one included.

Can I somehow have a ssh access to the device and check ifconfig and /var/logs?

Hi Vladimir
A blinking green light while connected via Ethernet suggests the network port is being activated but no DHCP address is being obtained. Checking the cable was the first correct step. Also, check the port of the router and that the router has enough DHCP Leases available.
You can e-mail us at support@bluesound.com if you wish us to verify it is not a hardware issue with the player itself.

Hi, Via Wifi, the connection didn't run smoothly either (didn't find the node hotspot)... via Ethernet, the app doesn't find the Node. Just new, only used your ethernet cable... absurdly bizarre.

Was anyone able to get ethernet working?
I'm having the same issue now. My Powernode was working fine over ethernet, then hung up and after a reboot only works on WiFi. No lights on the ethernet port anymore and confirmed the switch I'm using is working just fine with other devices.

Have the exact same issue on my C399, works via Wi-Fi (though ii had to go to the players IP address to set it up from
My iMac, the Blu OS app did not see it) now the C399 plays via Wi-Fi but not with Ethernet. Ethernet is preferable obviously. Every other device connected to Ethernet switch works w/o issue - TV, Blu Ray, DirectTV, smart home stuff)A bug I think

Hi, Even I have the same issue. When I connect to ethernet the powernode disappers. I have to change to wifi to get it connected. All other devices are working fine from the same port and cable. Any solution?

It needs to be on same Ethernet switch as router, if Wi-Fi is one router and there is an Ethernet elsewhere with a different IP address that the Node is attached to, BluOS considers those two things on different networks

Thanks , I will try 🙏

The switch was the issue for me. Eliminated the switch and ran my network cable straight to my node and problem (the same problem listed over and over above) was solved. Disappointed, because I spent all day in the attic running a 50’ network cable to the opposite side of my house, connected to a switch for both my av computer & node and now it looks like I’m forced to make a choice. If anyone knows a workaround, please post. Thanks

2 solutions Brian
1) Consider a new switch that supports the same options as your router, preferably same make too... definitely one that has same process for IGMP Proxy/Snooping.
2) (The fastest, easiest one) consider a pair of Powerline Ethernet Adapters from your local home networking electronics superstore... they usually run for about $50 US for a pair.

Guys, as was mentioned somewhere above the reason behind not seeing a wired device in app is that the blueOS device and your smartphone/tablet running the app are connected to different networks. Like in my case it can happen if you have more then one routers with DHCP enabled. For example, You have an fiber cable router and some mesh units (like tplink decco x20) connected to it. Please, validate that only one router has DHCP enabled. All the rest should be configured as AP mode (DHCP off).

Hi
I am having the same problem as Vlad. All non bluesound hardware works fine. I performed isolation testing. I plugged the ethernet into my laptop (with no wifi or bluetooth on) and it works fine. I plug the same ethernet into node n130 and it flashes green, then goes solid blue, and then no music a few seconds later and the unit can't be seen on the controller.
All firmware is up to date.
Did bluesound find a solution to this problem?

ok. I turned the node off. unplugged and re plugged the ethernet. then turned the node on, and that seems to have fixed it.
