NAD T778 display problem when using BluOS standby mode
BeantwortetMy T778 is two months old ans has been on BluOS standby mode "ON" since I bought it. BluOS version is now 3.10.3.
The first month everything was fine. Since three weeks there is an issue with the display. When I wake the T778 via spotify app from BluOS standby mode the display is 9 out of 10 times blank. Sometimes some stripes and flickering, sometimes white. See a movie and picture here in my google photo album: https://photos.app.goo.gl/WyvftVy2JDxzuAXX6
When I switch the player off with the switch on the back and wait for 15 minutes or more, the display works normal. Also if I switch the BluOS standby function to "OFF" and use the toggle switch on the front to get the T778 out of standby the display is also fine.
This seems a software issue, or can it be the 10W standby power consumption that heats things up inside? My store recommended to send the receiver to them for a checkup, but before they completely take it apart I wanted to check here what people think.

This is same problem as [Nad M10 contrast issue/colour fade]. Hope this one gets picked up by dev team.

Hello all,
Please send our support crew a diagnostic log from your players via the BluOS Controller app (Help > Send Support Request; log will be automatically attached) so they may look into this further.

One month ago I have sent a diagnostic as you requested. I waited to see if anyone else had the same problem and would react to my post but nothing was posted here after the 2 posts above this one. Today I have done a full factory reset of the amp and a factory reset of BluOS and the issue with the screen did not change. Still the issue is only present when waking up from BluOS standby after some time on standby.
Tomorrow I will send it to my dealer for repair.

Hello D de Boer,
I see you haven't opened a ticket with us -- I've escalated your request to double-check everything before you send it in for repair.

I just heared from my dealer that NAD claims it is a software bug and in the next couple of days it will be fixed with a software update.

..and fixed with today's release of BluOS 3.12.2 (or higher)

Not fixed in 3.12.2 Just send in a report because the same happened again after firmware update. Again had to unplug the unit from power to restore display

Same here.... the issue was not fixed. Black screen again today after waking from standby.

Got a personal reply with (the not user friendly) advise to do a factory reset. I hesitate to do this because it forces me to reconfigure the whole unit with my personal settings and also reconfig dirac live completely. All this due to the lack of a possibility of storing personal settings.
Please give me a less time consuming advise (f.i a workaround to store my settings) or fix the bug ...

I did the factory reset 2 weeks ago and that did not help. That was before this last update so maybe that could still be an issue but I doubt it.
I was very pleased that my dirac live filter was easy to setup again. If you have saved it in the dirac live app you just load it in the app (previous project) and upload it again to the T778 and everything was back to normal again (aside from one or two minor other non-dirac preferences that you have to set again in the settings menu).
Can someone from BluOs confirm that they are working again on this bug, otherwise I'll send in a support request again.

I did save the config, and tried to reload it (tried to figure this out on beforehand) but one way or another the stored settings did not load into the app. If I get this working it would indeed save a lot of effort. Still waiting for an advise on an easy way to store and restore settings ... But more, a bug resolution.

I did. Via help > support request. Then got the advise to do a factory reset (see my reply 1 hr ago) and asked if there is a way to store restore my settings. Didn't get a reply yet.

Then kindly reply to that e-mail and say it did not work... since you have not received a reply yet, that means they are looking at it.
