Create and Edit Playlist of Albums

I'm looking for a way to recreate something closer to playing CDs in a multi-disc changer where it's easy to replace a single album without impacting the others.  This is potentially similar to https://support1.bluesound.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/115007305748-edit-playlist-by-album-,

Nominally, I would like to have the ability to add/re-order/delete playlist entries by album.  The "add" functionality is already present (i.e., selecting an album and choosing "play next" or "play last"), but I haven't been able to find a way to change the order of the albums in the playlist or to remove an album without have to edit the songs individually. 

I understand that this would likely implementing an alternate indexing schema for the data (and I'm not at all sure how the UI would work), but it does seem to be a feature that at least a few other users are interested in given the above link.
