    Hi Peter

The PULSE SUB is designed to work directly with a PULSE SOUNDBAR, but can also be connected to other models with the addition of an after market accessory, the RT100 wireless speaker link. Please speak with your Authorised Bluesound Dealer about picking on up.

Hi, could you please explain how this is achieved? How do you connect the RT100 to the Pulse 2?

There are Bluesound official articles saying that any Bluesound player can be used with a Bluesound sub with the RT100 and you state above that this can be achieved but the Pulse 2 does not have a sub output jack so how do you connect the RT100 to the player? The quick start guide for the RT100 does not mention this at all.

    Thanks, Chris.

    Hello Chris,

The RT100 has a USB connector which would plug into the USB port on the back of your Pulse 2.

Hi Sam thanks for the response, is this documented anywhere? The USB port on the Pulse 2 has audio out capability? Does it output sub only or full range? Is it permanently enabled? There is no mention of this in the player audio settings in the app. If I connect an RT100 to the Pulse 2 via USB and pair the RT100 to a Pulse sub will the Pulse 2 automatically implement a high pass filter or continue operating full range?
    Thanks, Chris.

    Hi Chris

the USB port does not fully support audio output - you cannot connect an external DAC to it. It only supports the RT100.

Please see this help centre article to setup your RT100 with the PULSE SUB; https://support1.bluesound.com/hc/en-us/articles/115000168948

If however, you have yet to purchase anything, speak with your Bluesound Dealer about the new PULSE SUB+ we have just started shipping this month.

    Thanks for the info Tony.

Still don't have the following questions answered, again, THIS IS NOT DOCUMENTED ANYWHERE!!

The link you provided above just details the pairing of the sub with the RT100, not the RT100 to Pulse 2 connection or setup.

    1. With a RT100 plugged into the USB-A port on a Pulse 2, does the Pulse 2 output sub only or full range?

    2. With an RT100 plugged into the USB-A port on the Pulse 2, does the Pulse 2 output high pass or full range?

    3. If high pass is the crossover point adjustable?

    4. Will the app show a RT100/sub connected to the Pulse 2?

Sorry for dragging this out but with absolutely no information anywhere about this hidden USB>RT100 feature it's impossible for users to understand.

    Thanks, Chris.

Once connected, the PULSE will still play full range until you open the Audio Settings and indicate you have a SUB attached by toggling it on - the SUB will play regardless.

The crossover point is 80hz and not adjustable on the SUB but is on the new SUB+.

With the release of BluOS 3.12.x this month, the app now visually shows a SUB is connected and paired in the player drawer via iconography.

    That's great, thank you.

The subwoofer toggle in the Pulse 2 audio settings; will this appear once the RT100 is plugged in? It is not there by default.

As none of this is documented anywhere I feel privileged to be possibly the only person in the World outside your Company to know this information :)

I like the new icons in the app and have the subs shown now on my Soundbar and my Powernode 2 (with Duos). The updates in the last few weeks seem to have very much improved stability with the wifi connected players not disappearing from the app drawer and (thankfully) much improved reliability of getting them to group; previously some players would just refuse to group and annoyingly, when you attempted to add a player to a group the entire audio would disappear from the entire group for a few seconds (sometimes ten seconds) and then the previously grouped players would slowly start to play again with the added one just dropping out of the group in the all drawer. A power down of the non-grouping player would usually fix it but having to do that at least once a week with equipment costing thousands and thousands of pounds is beyond frustrating. I currently have two Soundbars (one with sub), a Powernode 2 with Duos (my favourite), a Node 2 driving Bose 502 outdoor speakers, Two Pulse 2, a Pulse Mini and a Flex. I constantly change groups depending on what is going on in the house so this has been a real bugbear for me.

An updates appears to have also 'fixed' my powernode 2 which for whatever reason refused to show the optical input despite a factory reset.

As this is the (old) thread that is closest to my own info request, I hereby hijack it and ask for forgiveness.

I have 3 Players in my network. Two of which (Pulse 2i Minis) are used to cover a big room working together as a stereo pair. I am considering adding a Sub+ to this, just for boom's sake.

What I CANNOT find anywhere is if it is possible to add a Sub+ to a stereo pair and apply all the balancing that is available between Sub and single player also to such a group. This is simply not documented anywhere as far as I can see.

    Does anyone know this?

    Thanks!

Well - your issue is completely different as the PULSE SUB+ was completely redesigned...

    ...and answered here; https://support1.bluesound.com/hc/en-us/articles/360056643913

    Thanks for your rapid response.

I might have a different issue (though I'd like to call it an info request, rather), but mostly because I was specifically asking how the pairing works with *paired* players (in contrast to pairing the sub to an indiuvidual player). I had already seen the info in the link that you gave. But my question is certainly not answered there, because all references are to *A* player; no linkage procedure between a sub and pairs to be seen.

So once more: Could you - or some other kind soul - please provide info, if a Sub+ can be paired with existing (stereo) pairs, so that - my usecase - a stereo pair of minis can be enhanced with the sub sound. And related to that: If yes, can the balance between the stereo pair and the linked sub be regulated as described between sub and individual players?

    Thanks.

Stereo paired players act as and also appear as a single player in the app so yes.

There you go. Thanks for clearing that up.

It might be an idea to clarify this in the documentation/HowTo pages.

Thanks again and a good start to the new year for you!
