Issues with "Library -> New" since latest update
BeantwortetIn BluOS 4.10.13, the "Library -> New" list of albums seems to be broken... When I add more than one album to my library and reindex, only the newest album is added to "New". I can see all added albums via their corresponding artist - so it's NOT an indexing error - and the sort order "Recent" correctly shows the latest albums of the current artist as first in list, but they don't show under "New" with the exception of the newest of all added. It's very annoying to lose the list of new albums across all artists...
Besides that a bug regarding special characters in metadata seems to be back. I have a lot of live albums in my library containg the recording date as "yyyy/mm/dd" in the album title. All of these are never added to "New". Also nearly all that were already shown in "New" before the update are not here anymore after the update.
I checked this with both the current iOS and Windows controllers.

Sorry to hear Heinz
Please try a Settings, Diagnostics, Rebuild Index to purge the existing Library. If that works, please add an album after that one to see if New is working as intended. If at any point these tests fail, please send us an updated log by selecting Settings, Send Support Request so we may ask QA to help us investigate.

This thread: https://support1.bluesound.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/33401689609623 (comments by user km) pushed me into a new direction: I could identify many albums with different „Artist“ and „Album artist“ tags missing from Library/New. For example I tagged „Talkin to the trees“ by Neil Young with Artist=Neil Young & The Chrome Hearts and Album Artist=Neil Young, or many albums with Artist=Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band and Album Artist=Bruce Springsteen. All of these albums are missing from „New“.
I will rebuild the index when I have time, but if the problem is tag related I doubt it will be resolved by a rebuild.1 -
I rebuilt the index, added two albums - one with identical, one with diefferent artist/album artist tags: only the first album appears in „New“. I’ve sent a Support Request.

Got this answer from support:
„Following discussions with our Engineering team regarding your specific issue, they have replicated the issue in our labs. Our Engineering team will conduct further investigation and provide a fix for this issue in an upcoming firmware update.“

Standard response creating false expectations. Had plenty of those, still awaiting fixes for issues more than a year old.

Exactly the same problem here - new items only show up under New if the artist and album artist tags are identical. So Rush, New Model Army, Mostly Autumn, Marillion are all fine, but Peter Gabriel (artist) with album artist Gabriel, Peter, or Mike Oldfield (artist) with album artist Oldfield, Mike do not get shown.
Same behaviour in both iOS and Mac controller apps. I tried a full library rebuild - made no difference.

Just an update here..
Our QA Team has been able to replicate this and find the root cause. Our Product Development Team hopes to publish an update to resolve this in our next release. Unfortunately I do not have an exact timeline but likely early to mid-September as part of a bundle of some other features.
Thanks for your patience.

Been over a month now. Still no fix? I just added several new purchases to my Vault, only two show up in the "New" category. Customer rep told me two weeks ago the problem had been identified and a fix was coming.
I've been afraid to back up my Vault since this latest firmware meltdown. Don't want good metadata overwritten by bad. Please get this fixed already and stop issuing unnecessary firmware updates.0 -
Hi Redbeardo (et al)
Thanks for your assistance behind the scenes here. I can confirm it has been identified and resolved in our next update. There are however a couple of other items in that same release in front of Quality Assurance for test and review. That being said, we do hope to release very very soon.
If you are concerned about your data, I would be too, and don't hesitate to back up.
