Dropouts on coaxial output with eARC input
BeantwortetI have been struggling with the following problem for a while.
I have tried your manufacturer's products before but the same thing happened with these and now this manufacturer has promised to fix this. However, I returned this product and bought a Bluesound Node 132 to replace it a few days ago. I first thought about buying a Node Icon but since I intend to use the digital output (coax out), I did not see the price difference as necessary.
The equipment is as follows
- Node 132, updates done
- 2 pcs Genelec 8330A
- 1 pc Genelec 7350 subwoofer
- Connection Node 132 -> Coax out, RCA - BNC cable, Neutrik BNC-XLR adapter 75ohm - 110ohm -> XLR AES/EBU cable to the right speaker, from here to the left and finally to the subwoofer.
I have connected the sound from the TV (LG) to the HDMI input of the Node with an HDMI cable. For the TV, I tried using PCM and pass-through for the sound output, but this does not affect the situation. Then I watched a normal TV or using different streaming services, and for these, the sound momentarily disappears as follows.
First, the right channel drops out and then the left, which causes the sound to waving/skip/stereo image to drop momentarily. This happens very often with audio coming from different sources.
Apparently this is somehow related to the clock frequency of the digital signal, etc., which is apparently at a different rate momentarily, which causes this sound to waving/skip/stereo drop. Is this a bug or a feature of this device? Maybe more like bug if competitor has been found main reason an adding skew option their device. Has this been reported and is there a possible fix coming? I can provide additional information even immediately after that situation occurred if I knew how to get the logs out of it directly.
Here is a link to the competitor's forum regarding this matter. https://forum.wiimhome.com/threads/dropouts-on-coaxial-output-with-arc-input.4971/.

Honestly you are going to have to use the analogue outputs on the NODE or whatever device you use, the speakers are as you note are making the noise on bitrate changes unfortunately and probably or possibly exaggerated by the digital signal from the TV.
Presume you have tried using the audio clock trim setting as this was added to help errant DACs.
Sorry could not be of any further help, you may want to ask Bluesound directly.

What is this audio clock trim setting?
Analogia outputs is option too but wanted to go with digital.

Thanks.

Seems that this Audio Clock Trim OFF fixed issue. At least I didn't noticed anymore dropouts. But I continue listening.
