Reboot the Fritz!box, give it five minutes to settle down then factory reset the Flex whilst the Ethernet lead is connected directly to the Router.

Now use the BluOS App and you should see the Flex, at this point you can finish setting it up by changing its name. Make sure it’s working by playing Radio Paradise, now back in the BluOS app add the Wi-Fi credentials.

Don’t move or power off the Flex but unplug the Ethernet lead and hopefully the led will switch to green then back to blue. You may have to powercycle the Flex as my Fritz!box does not like it when devices change MAC addresses. Test again and then move it to a suitable location with good Wi-Fi coverage.

If this does not help then in the BluOS App please select Settings, Send Support Request, so the Bluesound Support Crew can review the log file and take a closer look. If you cannot do this then use email support@bluesound.com

    Hi, Seppi Evans,

this indeed was helpful, thank you very much!

On the other hand: Do I always have to reboot the Fritz!Box router when moving the flex to another place? Seems to be a bit awkward as moving it to other rooms is one of its advantages. ;-)

What do you mean by "My Fritz"Box does not like when devices change MAC addresses?" Are MAC addresses always changing when a device ist unplugged? And what solves the problem after rebooting the router? Does the Flex get a new IP?

Thank you very much for your help!

    Regards Reinhard

Hi, you should not have to reboot the Fritz!box often, I do mine about every three months as processes and memory don’t always get freed up and this causes issues such as you described.

The Flex has two network interfaces, one wired the other is Wi-Fi, both have different MAC address and are fixed. Swapping between wired and Wi-Fi in a short period of time confuses the Router. This is unrelated to the IP, reserving IPs on the Fritz!box is however a good idea.
