Audio sync issue
BeantwortetI am experiencing an audio sync problem when I connect two groups of speakers. Here’s the setup and issue:
- First Speaker Group: A soundbar with a subwoofer and two rear speakers for home cinema.
- Second Speaker Group: Two small speakers.
Problem:
- Audio starts in sync but then delays occur between the two groups over time.
- This happens using Spotify and also during video playback via HDMI when adding the second group.
- I usually ungroup and group them again to reset that sync issue,
- I sometime have to kill the app and restart it (iOS) to reflect the grouping as the group is something not refresh on the app.
Thanks in advance for any advice

I just got the info from my local seller of my bluesound Soundbar that they checked it out. HW is fine but there is SW Bug all over all Soundbars they have in the field...SW Update should solve this once done...I hope this doesn't take to long...

Hi guys, reading through this, it seems pretty much exactly like what I’ve been experiencing with my blue Soundsystem. I had a blue sound node, I was very happy with it. So for a holiday apartment I got a blue sound sound bar with subwoofer and two rear speakers for music and cinema. Out of sync problem existed from the very first minute. After being through all the shenanigans, reading through all the comments and all tips and tricks on how to fix this, being in contact with blue sound support - at least they try to help you, you’ve gotta give them that - I was not able to fix the issue. Here is what finally worked: buying wifi extenders/repeaters that offer an ethernet output port. Connect the extenders wirelessly to your wifi, then connect the Bluesound speakers with an ethernet cable to the port of the repeaters. My soundbar, btw, is connected directly to my router via ethernet cable, and the sub is connected to the soundbar with an RCA audio cable. This fixes the problem. Out of synch can still happen, but the system recovers on its own, you only experience a short sound dropout. Still annoying, but happens rarely. It‘s the only thing that helped, and even the Bluesound support crew acknowledged this.
It is quite honestly an expensive fix for an already expensive system, but it‘s better than staying frustrated.
Hope it works for you.0 -
After seeing Claus’ comment I also decided to go the wired Ethernet route. So far I have 45mins without sync issues, which would have been unthinkable before. Not exactly the solution I was looking for when buying a ‘wireless’ solution. But by lack of actual solutions by the manufacturer, this will have to do…

I had the Pulse 2 speaker working on wifi for some time when I purchased the Soundbar 2i to pair it with. From the beginning it had the sync issues and one of the first things I did was to run LAN cables to both speakers (which is a few years ago now). It did not solve the issue for me, it seems to happen mostly when playing tv sound over hdmi arc on the soundbar, it seems to happen much less often when playing spotify music, though it happens occasionally.
I am currently at the point of dumping my bluesound speakers in favor of a set of a different brand with hopefully more reliability.

Thanks Tony, did reach out tonsupport multiple times. Each time the blame was on my router arp cache. I have always disagreed this as the routers have quite some power compared to standard consumer grade routers (I had Ubiquity Edgerouter 12 at the time, currently Unifi Dream Machine Pro SE, made no difference).
Given the amount of reactions on this thread it seems to be more general and hardware or firmware related to the soundbar.

Hi Stephan
I have reviewed your request history... I have opened a new request on your behalf. Our Support Crew will be in touch.

Oh, it absolutely is a problem that has nothing to do with your wifi. I was in contact with the blue sound support for quite some time. At one time, I was told by support the following: „No matter which version the players are on if you create a home theatre group with a SOUNDBAR+ and two rear speakers, this issue tends to occur.“ They currently have no idea why this problem occurs, and they are actually less than confident that a firmware update will fix this. Tony, as you work for Bluesound support, please feel free to correct me on this, if you can. I’d be happy if you did. It is quite honestly a shame, especially considering the price tag and the well-known company behind blue sound, which is NAD.

Thank Tony, let's see what it will bring. Would be more than happy to provide all the information and tests they need to find a solution. As long as it is constructive and not to brush off and have me restart my router each time the sound is out of sync :)

hi Tony W,
I see you’re active here and working to solve this issue. I opened this thread a year ago, and after more than 30 exchanges with Support—including several video calls—I still don’t have a solution.
Support recognizes it’s a genuine problem but referred me to your European point of contact, who promised to get it fixed. So far, nothing has happened.
I even had a network specialist coming at home to find any potential wifi issues at home, my wifi is more than ok but still the issue remains.
If this is a confirmed issue and a firmware update can fix it, please release the update; otherwise, arrange refunds for customers who can’t use their speakers together because they initially thought it was WIFI speaker!
thanks

Hi David
Log files are very helpful in understanding your setup

@Jasper: Please do let me know if the wifi extender fix still works for you. It does for me. It does actually still get out of synch every now and then, but then the sound drops out for a second or two and then it's in synch again.

hi Tony,
I've stop counting how many times I've sent my logs via this procedure... I never got any solution from the support, as I said we even had video calls.
I've reset many times all my speakers. Sometime the 2 rear speakers are connected on the soundbar wifi with ip 172.x.x.x, sometime not with my network ip 192.x.x.x, sometime 1 is on the soundbar with 172 and the other is having 192 on my network. I also had that with the sub being sometime having 192 or 172.
The soundbar and the wifi are in the same room!
Now I'm trying with an RCA cable to plug the sub with the soundbar but I have random volume and can't have something coherent. Should I link or unlink the sub to be able to set the volume properly?
I'm also trying to put a wifi to ethernet to prevent my rear speaker to have such random behaviour.
The problem is coming from the home theatre group which creating the play sync issue

hi,
Is there a willingness at Bluesound to help customers, or rather to leave them with equipment that doesn’t work properly?
