Network wired issues
BeantwortetDear,
All my devices (TV's, digicorder's, ARC amplifier, Playstation5 etc) connected with a network cable are working perfectly and are controllable via an app, except the Bluesound Node (bought new 4 weeks ago). Through your app BluOS, it is impossible to find the Node. Unless I plug the powernode directly into the router four floors down. So my setup (audio) is four floors up, the network cable where my audio setup is located can only be connected to the Node via a Network cable/splitter. There is just no other physical solution.
Referring to a router problem or blaming the problem on another device is not necessary, otherwise other devices connected via a network cable (and splitter) would also have problems. In my opinion, the cause lies with the BluOS application.
I hope you guys can support me in finding a solid and sustainable solution.
Thanks in advance for your response,
Peter

If you by "Network cable/splitter" is meaning a switch, it's most likely blocking multicast traffic.

Yes indeed switches, but netgear unmanaged switches. How can I solve this? without investiging in expensive switches (privat use...).

A few "cheap" switches that should work:
Netgear GS305E
tp-link TL-SG105E0 -
Let's try first the managable switches, just ordered them. Wait & see.
In a near feature I need to replace too old Mac... so lets hope replacing the switches will work.

So both 3 netgear switches multicasting is unblocked. Still no possibility to interact with the Node (via the IPhone App). 🤔

Both = purchased 😅

Not yet. Need first to replace my old Mac (pc laptop from work, doesn’t allow me to install the BluOS controller).

To rule out any WiFI issue, are you connecting your phone to the same access point when connected to your router and when you connect your player on the other location?

Hi! I know this thread says "answered", but I have a similar problem. I have a router in the basement set in AP mode (Asus AC3200) connected wired to the main router (upstairs). The node is connected to the basement router. It works fine - I use tidal connect with my phone (connected to wifi).
But after a few days, I can't see the node anymore. I have to unplug power (since there's no reboot - holding the blue circle 6 seconds does nothing!!), and then plug back, and it is then fine.
I don't really understand why I lose this connectivity; when I look at the connected devices on the router, I see the node... So it's as if something goes amiss - maybe the DNS or something...
Ideas?

Double-check your network configuration as the Asus router is in AP mode, it acts as a bridge between the wireless devices and the existing local network.
However, there may be a chance that the devices connected to the Asus router in AP mode cannot see or communicate with devices on the primary router's wireless network, as they are separated by the router's network boundaries.

latest firmware update seems to have fixed this! thanks!
