If I connect using a optical instead of RCA am I loosing using the dac in the node . I was using RCA connected to my Denon av amp .since changing to optical my music's sounds dull n flat

  Hi Ian

  Using TOSLink out, COAX out or in the unique case of a NODE 130, USB out will bypass Digital Signal Processing in the NODE and use the external DAC of the device on the other end of the cable. The NODE DAC is NOT used.

  The NODE DAC is only used when playing direct Analogue out via RCA or headphones.

  Yeh can massively tell this. My Denon av amp isn't that great so back to RCA .👍
