Powernode N330 freezes in 'Waiting' while on wifi
AnsweredHi, does anyone recognize this issue? When connected via wifi my Powernode N330 within minutes completely ends up in 'Waiting' with the moving circle in the middle. All music services, the Settings and Diagnostics are 'Waiting'. The player is completely inaccessible. The only remedy is a full power cycle. Even when next to the router, the same thing happens, so this is not signal strength related.
The strange thing is that when I replace the N330 with an older Powernode 2i, everything works flawless on wifi.
Bluesound support suggested powering down the network to clear the device table of the router, but this did not change things.
Any ideas what might be wrong?

Hi Seppi, I will definitely continue working with support.
I have the issue both near the router (44 dBm signal strenght) as well as medium distance (59 dBm).
And, indeed wire internet solves the issue. The N330 works flawless, but wifi should also work flawless.

It's a brand new Powernode N330.

AP Isolation is disabled; IGMP proxy is enabled at v3. Powercycled the whole network twice.

Nope, simple network. One router, two access points.

Same issue here. This is my first day on the powernode n330 and everytime i try something in the app, the wireless network on the device will crash. After this I need to reboot it with the touch buttons to be able to use it again. And then the same thing happens again. Before rebooting i checked the devices list on my router, and the powernode has lost it's connection at this point. After rebooting the connection is restored.
This does only happen when i try to play from musicservices from within he Bluos app - like Tidal or Radio Paradise. This does not happen when i use Airplay for streaming. HDMI eArc keeps working in this situation.

Amplifi HD user here on the latest firmware and there's a signal good connection.

I'am not sure how to check this for multicast settings. But IGPM proxy is on. I switched every setting back to default in order to exclude issues. Still happening.

It's directly connected to the glass-modem. No other routers.
The crazy thing is, it only hangs when i use the app on my iphone, not when i play music on airplay and switch to a preset on the device.
I rebooted everything and even checked the setting on both satellites to make sure it was not blocking stuff.0 -
Hi Beninho, I’m glad I’m not the only one with this issue. I also only have this issue with the app in iphone and ipad. Airplay works flawless on wifi.

Also I can make the wifi connection break faster by switching sources and tracks in the app.

Sorry, been very busy and not been able to awnser. I do not have spare ethernet cable for the node at this moment. Will have to enable it later on with ethernet. Will look into this.

Like Joppe, i can break the connection by just selecting a song in Tidal and switching sources.

Same issues here. A new N330 been using for 2 weeks. Wireless drop out of the unit. Excellent signal strength ( 45dBm ) at 4meter separation from 5G AP with no channel interference.
Using Android app and changing sources will drop the powernode n330 off the network as mentioned above.Seems this issue of wireless unit dropouts are/have plagued bluesound. Lastest firmware update doesn't fix this fundermental issue.
Hope the Devs with working N330 can truely drill down into the issues for what a working wifi setup looks like. On the fence now :/

I think we have enough evidence now that this is a Bluesound issue. Since I don't have the issue with an older Node 2i and Powernode 2i (in exactly the same setting), my assumption is that this is caused by a combination of the new N330 hardware and the current firmware.

Hi,
Had a similar problem with my new N330.
Setup is pretty basic: ISP Router -> Ubiquti AP -> N330.
I had the setup with AP acting as router as well, having IGMP enabled.
Whatever setting I chose, the node would simply dissapear on the AP network (any requests coming from the BluOS app or over the network would go via WAN to search for the N330 host, which timed-out).
Thanks for pointing out that the AP should be running in Bridge mode. Never had an issue with my other devices so did not make this setup.
It's been running stable so far, and hope this was the fix.

I have the same issue. My N330 regularly disappears from the WiFi network and seems to 'crash' requiring a reboot to get it back up and on the network. As others have described in this thread, interacting with the BluOS app seems to trigger the issue. Specifically swapping sources or pausing a stream.
No problem on ethernet.

Hi Alex, This problem has been around so long now that I lost all hope that Bluesound will ever come up with a solution. Also on the latest firmware I can still reproduce the issue within one minute by switching between music services with the Bluesound app.

Yes so I gather from some online research - very frustrating. I have a Node 2 and a Powernode 2 which have been running flawlessly for years on the same WiFi network. Only the N330 has this problem. If I use ethernet the problem disappears entirely. Unfortunately the location makes using ethernet a problem, without making holes in walls. Difficult to understand why such a serious feature failure hasn't been addressed yet - the fact it can be triggered via app interaction seems to suggest it's a software issue.

I had the same issue. I installed a TP-Link Powerline Adapter which is working flawlessly for the last couple of years.
