HDMI EARC connection via Bell 9500:box

Hi.

Trying to connect my Node N130 to my Sony Bravia TV via a Bell 9500 Satellite box. I connected the HDMI from the Bell Box to the Node. All my tv connections are confirmed correct. 
Once I switch the Node to HDMI Arc, I get a message on the tv to point the remote to the Bell box to turn on. I do this but nothing happens, except an error message to check connections.

Can you either confirm my connections are correct or outline the correct procedures for connecting the HDMI to the Bell box.
