I am having the same issue with my iPad with all the latest software versions.

Screen with the BS logo opens but slides down immediately and the app quits.

App uninstalled and iPad rebooted. App installed again and the issue is still not solved.

Open the AppStore App. Search for Bluesound App. Click the blue "Open" button. Does it work now?

Hi Seppi, My wifi and network is working well and don't see the need for rebooting the router. Will be the last option.

Our Quality Assurance Team is reviewing The BluOS App and compatibility on devices running BluOS 9.x.x as we appear to meet iOS requirements on these older devices but are having quite a few reports otherwise. Please continue to monitor this thread for updates and thank you for your patience.

    My Apologies Liz & Daryl

An update to the BluOS App for iOS was released this week on November 8th - you should see an update in the App Store if you do not already have automatic updates turned on.

This latest version sadly did not solve the problem on my (ancient) ipad 2. When launching the app it still closes immediately.

Didn’t fix mine either.  The note regarding the Nov 7 release only mentions “performance improvements and feature enhancements”.  Says nothing about addressing this issue.

One of the main reasons I purchased the BlueOS controller was because its app worked with my older, and dedicated, iPad.  Without the app support on that iPad my entire sound system it almost useless. Please fix this or make the previous working version available.

Same - no change to the behavior of the app before and after November 8th update.  Agree it would be helpful to be able to download the prior app version that did work on my older iPad.

Please consider deleting and then loading a fresh copy of the App.

That unfortunately is controlled by Apple and The App Store in iOS. You cannot install previous versions. You can however install the latest version that will work on your iOS device but keep in mind that not all features are then supported in the App.

Deleted and reinstalled, but the problem remains. App opens en closes immediately. This is on an old Ipad 2 with ios 9.3.5.

Same - deleted and reinstalled, no change. App opens and immediately goes to background - open but no accessible.

I am on iPad 2, Model MC774LL/A (3rd Gen) with IOS 9.3.6 (the last Apple allowed the iPad update). Again, everything worked fine before the BluOS update 3.20.0.

Deleted and reinstalled app on 11/15/2022. Still doesn't work. iPad 3 running iOS 9.3.6. Does dev team really have access to vintage iPad hardware running the 9.3.x iOS?

I hope BluOS continues to support iOS 9.3…but if this situation doesn't improve, the BluOS app will have to revise its compatibility specification to iOS 10. Please let the community know if there is anything we can do to help, such as running test versions.

@TonyW…Apple will allow previous versions to be installed, please have your team take another look at how to do that.  It isn’t that difficult.

Appreciate the sentiment - but Thanksgiving was last month, eh.

How much longer will it take to resolve this issue? Time is dragging out now guys and my iPad 2 is dedicated to the app

    Hi

I have ios 9.3.5 on my iPAD and had been using Bluos previously all OK (well, apart from occasional hiccups which to date have been resolved) The app that was updated on Nov 7 2022 will not now load. I have uninstalled the Bluos app, turned off the ipad then restarted and reinstalled Bluos but it doesn't load, tried a further reboot but no joy.

The Bluos logo appears briefly on a black background then disappears and the desktop is shown. Double clicking the button at the bottom of the iPad screen shows that Bluos appears to be running but if I tap on it the app comes to the fore briefly then disappears as before.

I see many people with this problem. I am about to make some serious decisions about how I manage my music going forward. If Bluos is to feature in my setup this problem needs resolving fast. So does Bluos support ios 9.3.x or not and if so when will the apparent problem be resolved.

    Thank you.

    Same issue here.

I want to use my iPad mini as controller. Although the app store indicates BluOS is compatible with 9.3.5, the app will not boot, same as people mentioned before.

I have received an unhelpful reply from Bluesound stating that they will be fixing this issue but cannot tell me when. I presume all of you that made an independent report of this problem will have received this response too.

If Bluesound are going to make statements like their product works with IOS 9.3.x (as they have done) then they need to pull out the stops and fix any issue that prevents this. This issue is demonstrably at least 1 month old, Bluesound should be able to give a date when new Firmware/Application will be available to allow continued use of their product. It is not acceptable to simply state that "the Support Crew aren't in control of development" which is what they are saying at present.

There are plenty of alternative streaming players out there (I actually have jRiver MC live on an ID and functioning at present, there are others too) So Come on Bluesound get your act in gear and get this issue resolved.

    Regards

I have now received the following message from Bluesound Support Crew - Tony W

Thank you for your continued patience in this matter. This morning, we have begun a phased rollout of an update to the BluOS Controller App for iOS to resolve a memory crash ay launch on iOS 9.3.6. You should see this App available to you in the coming days.

This update was available to me after checking in the IOS App Shop under Updates. It was listed as iOS App 3.20.2 and just to further clarify I am running BluOS 3.20.25 on my Node 2. It appears to have resolved the problem which is good but a day too late for me to cancel my order for a newer iPad.

Thanks to Tony for getting this info and fix out to us. The message I'd like fed back to Bluesound is that we need clear understanding as to what is happening when an issue that is clearly at odds with a key product statement. Hope we can all benefit from this going forward.

    Regards and Thanks.

Trevor McCarthy-White - Now happy user!

Hooray! Just loaded the latest update and it seems to have rectified the problem with access from my iPad2.

I'll give it a "wearer trial" and hope it is now stable

    Thank you
