Multiroom/surround from external source with NAD 368 with MDC BluOS 2i
AnsweredI've purchased two Pulse Flex 2i speakers and was hoping to be able to use them as rear speakers for my NAD 368 with MDC BluOS 2i module.
It works fine when the NAD source is set to BluOS, but it doesn't when the source is my TV (HDMI). After some searching I found this note:
"*Players using a BluOS MDC or upgrade kit will not be able to play connected inputs to grouped players".
So seems this is not supported. Is there a chance it will be as part of a future BluOS upgrade?
Thanks.

Hi Jos
Chassis sources such as a turntable on the C368 or HDMI on a T777v3 cannot be grouped as sources with a BluOS MDC such as The BluOS 2i MDC or VM310 4K module. It is a limitation of the chassis hardware on the NAD products.
Starting in late 2021, with the NAD C399 and BluOS-D NAD Electronics introduced MDC2 allowing for two-way communication between the chassis hardware and MDC. In coming products, NAD does plan on using this new architecture but given it is a hardware limitation, MDC2 is not backwards compatible with older NAD chassis'.

@tony, are new amplifiers (e.g. C399) backward compatible old MDC cards (e.g. the HDMI for C368) compatible with MDC2-ready amplifiers?

Hi Robert,
New amplifiers such as NAD C389, C399, and C3050 uses NEW MDC architecture and would not be compatible with the older MDC modules.
