    Hello Razi,

You can absolutely use any 3rd party subwoofer with your Pulse Soundbar.  Use an RCA cable from the subw output of the Pulse Soundbar.  Connect this to the Left input or LFE input on your subwoofer.

Be sure to enable the subwoofer option in your audio settings for the Pulse Soundbar and that's it!  You should be good to go and ready to enjoy your Sub+Soundbar combo.

    Thanks for #LivingHiFi

    Kind regards,

    Jade L.

Thanks very much Jade for your response. I was able to connect a 3rd party subwoofer and it works as expected.

Had one very quick question. In the BluOS app, under the audio setting, I see two toggle buttons for Subwoofer. I turned both of them to ON. Not sure what the difference is between them?

    Hello Razi,

As far as I know, you should only see the following subwoofer options:

    • Bass/Treble Tone Controls
    • Bass Boost (available w/ Sub)
    • Deep Bass (available w/o Sub)
    • Subwoofer On/Off
    • Subwoofer Delay
    • Subwoofer Volume

If you are seeing more than one Subwoofer On/Off toggle, please try a hard power reboot of your Pulse Soundbar as well as fully closing and reopening the BluOS Controller App.

If these steps do not help, please send in a Support Request from the Help menu in the BluOS App so we can look into this in more detail for you.

    Kind regards,

    Jade L.

Hi, would a 3rd party subwoofer wired with the pulse soundbar+ (not 1st gen) be able to form a complete 5.1 home theater with a powernode for the rear channels?

    Hi Sanjay,

In short, yes!  Both the original Soundbar and the latest Soundbar+ can utilize a hardwired subwoofer as the LFE output for Dolby.

    Kind regards,

    Jade L.

Thanks for confirming. I managed to setup my new SVS sub and it works with my Bluesound devices.
It sings particularly well with Powernode. However, the same sub placed in same location with same settings when connected to the soundbar+ becomes way too boomy. Is there a difference between the way Powernode and soundbar+ should be setup ?

    HI Sanjay

DOLBY can have bass heavy mixes... adjust your volume level on the sub woofer and maybe lower the crossover in the SOUNDBAR+... here is how to access your Audio Settings in the BluOS App; https://support.bluos.net/hc/en-us/articles/360036429314-How-do-I-manage-the-Audio-Settings-on-my-BluOS-player
