Is Dolby Atmos coming to Bluesound?
AnsweredHi
I'm currently on the market for a streamer and am looking at the Node as I'm not enjoying the streaming experience of music on my Nvidia Shield. However, the Shield seems to be among only a few players (Apple TV, Amazon Fire) that are able to play Atmos sound. While I'm planning to stream Stereo 90% of the time I'd still prefer a streamer that does both.
Two years ago it was already mentioned that Bluesound is working on something but can't share any detail or time frame (https://support1.bluesound.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/360046858153-Bluesound-and-Dolby-Atmos-Audio-on-Tidal?input_string=Is%20a%20Dolby%20Atmos%20streamer).
So I was wondering:
Is anything known about a Bluesound device that will be able to stream Atmos to an AVR? It seems weird that cheap products like the Amazon Fire can do this and a premium device like the Node can't. I know about the differences and am well aware of the advantages that the Node has - which is why I plan to buy one. I just don't want to end up buying a product that will be replaced by a Node that does Atmos within a few weeks or months (which would seem to be the next logical step to me).
Sorry if this is the wrong area of the forum. I didn't really know where to post this.

Same question. I would like to be able to stream spatial audio to my AVR via the Node.

Does the 3rd Gen. Node play Dolby Atmos via HDMI?. Is it better to use HDMI or RCA in CD player, for music playback?
