Same here with a Node 2. Submitted a ticket already.

It's bricked for now... USB downgrade to 3.20.21 has not worked.

I have this now too. Red light, won't do anything.

So, support asked me to see if the optical out was flickering/blinking or solid.

Apparently, a flickering/blinking optical out is due to a faulty power supply.
Life is strange... Node2 works perfectly, process a firmware update then suddenly dead due to a power supply issue. What an uncanny timing...  Life works in mysterious ways.

A search for "red light" pulls out hundreds and hundreds of posts. It says a lot.

Mine was pulsing red very slowly, like every 5 to 10 seconds, but after quite a while it just stays red.

After some Googling, it looks like it's due to a flawed PS design.

I've fixed it myself for $5, after being quoted $350 by Bluesound to repair it.
There are two capacitors on the power supply board that were literally touching the voltage regulator's heat sink. They were bulging and failed. This is a really poor design and it's no surprise. There must be many owners with a similar issue who aren't as handy with a soldering iron. It's unfortunate that Lenbrook would abdicate any responsibility for a design flaw that is obviously of their own making.
