Loss of Focus on APP
AnsweredI am quite disappointed so far. It took me a full afternoon just to get my player seen by the software and finally, the only way was with Ethernet.
Then When using the software on the computer all is fine as long as this software is "In Focus", for the uninitiate, that means it is the active software at the moment. Open any other software to do some work and you lose your music, a radio station in my case.
I don't know why I should even try when I can just open a channel to whatever I want to listen to via the internet and play it through the TOSLINK cable and it doesn't need to stay on top. This seems like a lot of fluff and bluster over noting.
I have no intention of even trying my cell, as I don't use Bluetooth. THat is just one more battery drain.

If you are using the Bluesound controller to play back music from a streaming service or a shared local library then music will continue to play even if the Bluesound controller software is deleted and the device it was running on physically turned off.
However if you are (and I highly suspect you are) just using your Bluesound device as an output to a computer then the issue is with the operating system of your computer that stops audio from apps when they are no longer as you say in focus, nothing to do with Bluesound what you feed in via the optical lead. Bluesound devices were never marketed or intended to be computer speakers.
The Bluesound app will not cause drain on your cell phone (no more than any other app) if you load and use the app, as stated once you have started music the phone can be turned off and music will continue to play. Of course if the music service you want to use is not supported by Bluesound and you have to use Bluetooth or Airplay then this would use the battery in your phone.
Edit : Suggest you add either a local music share or streaming music service to the Bluesound App to enjoy uninterrupted music listening.
