Bass slider doesn't work with my speakers

I have a Bluesound Powernode driving a pair of KEF R3s. When I enable the equalizer setting and look to up the bass, I hear no change in my speakers. It could be the speakers but then again, I have never seen no change with any pair of speakers. For example, when I run the same speakers with my Marantz receiver, there is more bass present as it's a less neutral unit than the Powernode.

Any suggestions or comments for what I could be experiencing and how to fix it?

  You are connecting to the "LF" input on your speakers, and "Link" turned clockwise?
