Unfortunately there is no method to turn the Ethernet LEDs off, previous suggestions have been to use Blu / White Tack or something similar.

I have cannot stand LEDs glowing away and all my devices have these devices… even my toothbrush!

    Hi Seppi,

Thank you. When the device goes to sleep, the ethernet LED does go off. So what I'm asking for is a way to put the device to sleep via BluOS, not just by holding the hardware button down for 5 seconds.

Of course there would then be no way of taking the Bluesound device out of sleep using either the RC1 or Bluesound App which would frustrate some / many.

I do know Bluesound don’t recommend vacation mode unless you really are going away for a week or more.

I don't understand your comment. There is already sleep mode. What needs to be added is a way to put the device to sleep from the Controller app. There is no reason to believe that automatically requires the Controller to be able to wake up the device, I don't see an implied relationship. And if somebody wants to push the issue, I'll note Yamaha MusicCast supports turning devices on and off via their controller.

I use sleep mode every weekend for the past 5 years and it has not harmed the box. When I want to turn it on I hit the play button.

I’m saying…people would complain if they could invoke sleep mode from the App but not wake. The Yamaha is obviously not fully asleep…

I don't understand what you're trying to do. First you said that you can't stand the lights, and yet, you attempt to shoot down an obvious approach to how it should be fixed.

People can complain about anything they want, don't try to stop them.

Nobody said to paste the Sleep button on top of every song in the playlist. They can easily put it in device options where nobody who isn't looking for it won't see it.

The Yamaha is like every computer with wake-on-LAN. The Yamaha software is just better than BluOS...
