Correct there is a delay on the inputs of Bluesound equipment, this is the same with other multi room systems. This delay is part of the input being digitised and a buffer added to ensure Bluesound devices play in perfect sync.

If you had the Powernode 2i with HDMI you could send the audio from the ARC port of a TV to the Powernode with the computer connected to another input on the TV and be in sync.

it should be able to be disabled if not using grouping.

There will always be a latency due to the ‘processing’ of the inputs.

    Ugh.

I'm not sure if you're saying:

"when doing digital processing by definition there is latency introduced"

    or

"we are too lazy to add the feature to remove the 'additional' 50ms processing that is required for grouping as a setting"

If the former, yes single digit milliseconds would not be very noticeable, and would be acceptable.

    If the latter... sloppy.

Guess this one goes to eBay and I'm in the market for a new integrated amplifier that works in-sync with video.

I don’t work for Bluesound, there are device such as the current POWERNODE that will do what you want which was released over a year ago. It predecessor the Powernode 2i with HDMI will also work.

Thanks Seppi. Are you saying the current powernode enables you to disable the '50ms' processing time?

Or, alternatively how was the issue addressed in the current one?

There is still a 50ms delay but on my POWERNODE I cannot notice any lip sync issues. There is something called A/V mode on devices with a HDMI input that lets you adjust the delay from 50ms upwards to 150ms to ensure multi room sync.

Ugh. It should be able to be disabled. I'm done with this kind of garbage and going to look for a more serious brand.

No, the new Powernode doesn't fix the issue anyhow.

I just got it and am currently in a process of refund, because you can't get better latency than 50ms+.

I don't use the grouping feature, so it's pretty ridiculous I can't just bypass this additional latency.

I just got the PowerNODE I immediately found that lip-sync issues with all the inputs... That means all input is digital processed .... That is not something I really want....... It's pretty ridiculous that have delay for analog inputs.... that means we cannot reuse the amp independently. We can use that to listen to music only... not video game, DJing .... etc.. due to input delay...

Bluesound has never sold or marketed for DJ’ing and its primary market is multi room music and very clear about this on the website.

For Multiroom music I understood that 50ms delay for buffering it totally make sense (and I will be impress with a mutliple room devices operating in sync with just 50ms delay from the source. To be honestly I still not able to give it a try yet.) ... but this device is with the included HDMI ARC (usually connected with TV), analog inputs... I expected that there will be no lip-sync issues for customer point of view. Although this audio equipment is not advertise or marketed for DJing ... But from a customer endpoint of view, it's an audio equipment - A streamer plus an amplifier integrated. I just use that for what I expected to use .... But with that delay, it should be quite unique compared to most of audio equipment I use/understand before.... and I have no solution to it... Maybe from your stand point, Bluesound can ONLY use for multiroom music...and NOT for other use (such as Home Cinema, Video Games... etc.. ). is that what you are saying?

Works fine for TV and for mutiroom music, no difference from other multiroom audio systems.

Works fine for TV, as long as you don’t mind your video and audio being out of sync with one another.

I’m finding the picture is ahead of the audio and a minimum of 50ms is too much buffer and believe I need 10-30ms. Other systems have 0 to …

It is a mystery to me how Bluesound keeps using the multi-room feature as the defense for the mandatory 50ms delay.  Mutli-room is indeed a great feature that appeals to a lot of customers.  But it should be obvious that the 50ms delay alienated a lot of current and potential customers as well.  Is there any technical hurdle to disable this "feature" when the device is used on a standalone basis?
