alexa echo dot integration
AnsweredHi,
If i connect an alexa echo dot to the back of a powernode 3 with cable, what should i say to alexa to ask to activate this line in input?
I dont want to use the app, neither standup and push the button...
i tried to associate it to a preset and ask to activate the preset but it does not work..
is it possible?
PS: i have to do like this because your alexa integration is only partial
1) no language integration
2) hyper complicated way to put songs "ask bluesund to play..." instead of "play song..."

What about connecting the DOT to your POWERNODE using Bluetooth and have the POWERNODE Bluetooth input set to automatic?
My DOT has analogue and Bluetooth out, there was a Echo Link device that had optical out (much better audio quality) that would allow the POWERNODE to switch automatically to the optical input but you needed a DOT or similar still as the Link had no microphone.

Thanks Seppi, maybe it could work.
But it's not easy at all to do what you say.
in Alexa app: i goto all devices and choose Echo Dot, but it does not recognise Bluesound BT
in BluOS app: i goto My Player and i choose bluettoth headphone and it gets connected.. but here then i have Bluesound playing on my echo dot..
so this way... No!
i go back to alexa app: i goto Group and i choose as speaker bluetooth but it never gets connected
so kind of nightmare i must admit...

I tried this out, brought the DOT closer to my POWERNODE and it found it listed as a Bluetooth device, then I set Bluetooth as a default output, and it works.
Perhaps a powercycle of both devices and the controller? I have Bluetooth set to Automatic on the POWERNODE.

One thing I do use with my Bluesound equipment is the Bluesound RC1, works brilliantly and lets you assign the presets to the numeric buttons for a simple one push without getting out of chair or opening an app.

Thanks Seppi for your help, it finally WORKED!!
After 40 y. working with devices i still underestimate the power of rebooting and trying it again :)
I did not know RC1, it's cool but at my place remote controls end up getting lost everywhere but where they should be... hence the need to use voice to control powernode
My nexr step is to try to add to Alexa group a echo studio as auxiliary portable device for the garden, which produces music synced with powernode and its speakers

You won’t sync Alexa speakers and Bluesound devices. The inputs on Bluesound devices have a slight delay as it gets digitised.

Indeed, I tried with a Echo Studio and it did not give me the option to pair my echo dot (linked to Powernode) and Echo Studio.
So only option available is a Flex 2i / Mini from Powernode?
I am not considering Roon as it is too expensive the monthly fee, just to add an external speaker.
