There is this article, I use this method without issue on an iPad.

Can't figure it out on my Android phone other than deleting the whole playlist yet it can be done from my laptop. Also would be nice to have a select button at top to delete than check off the ones you want to delete like emails do instead of having to do it individually

Thank you both! Seppi, thank you for that post. I’ll certainly try it. Do do recommend doing this on an iPad. vs an iPhone or a Mac?

I’m sorry to be cranky, but I can see why people are gravitating to Roon. I tried to follow these steps on my iPad and was able to clear the playlist from the Library and then open MyPlaylist where I want to delete duplicate songs. When I tap the edit button (the one to the right of the trash can at the bottom) all of the songs get a red dot with a minus sign in the to the left of the song, BUT when I delete the ones I want to delete, they go away in the Play Quese but not in the MyPlaylist.

I am probably missing something really simple here. Any ideas?

    TIA

Once you have made changes to the queue, just click the save button. It’s the icon with three lines and an arrow pointing downwards.

Oh my, I am so thankful of your help! That was the detail I overlooked in their instructions. It works fine now but it, IMHO, shouldn’t be this convoluted to manage a playlist. Thanks Seppi!

    Hi Paul, no problem.

For me personally it works very well, I have several large playlists and at times I want to just listen to a subset. The ability to edit the playlist and save it as a new one means I don’t destroy the original and it’s kept intact.

That is a wonderful feature and will surely helps making playlists! For example, if I wanted a master Classical playlist and the a sub playlist with just Beethoven, that would be quick & easy (now that you taught me how to do it).

Adding to this conversation two years later, I’m wondering if it would be technically feasible to just add “delete from playlist“ to a song in the playlist, so it is easier to delete. At any rate, I just started creating playlist and this post was extremely helpful in helping to manage them.
