crackling sound from vault

Music stored in my vault crackles on playback..as if sourced from old vinyl
Spotify accessed from my vault does too
tuner stations do not
spotify accessed via my (yamaha) receiver do not crackle

my mistake...tuner crackles as well
tried headphones plugged into vault, no crackle
should I try optical output?

Start by swapping the analogue leads / try another input on your Yamaha and see if that helps.

Used new analogue leads,( the ones that came with the vault, not my super thick expensive ones) switched inputs and switched to optical input. All this so that I didn’t have to access the rear of my system again! Currently listening to optical input…. Sound is wonderful. Thanks for getting back to me

Excellent, funny about what you found with the supplied Bluesound leads as there was a post about this on one of the UK Hi-Fi forums. The persons swapped his super duper expensive leads for the Bluesound ones and found that they sounded better.
If you use optical or coaxial output and your Yamaha does not support MQA then you will miss out on that format - if that matters to you of course.
