Is it worth swapping from optical to e-arc?
AnsweredI have my Bluesound Powernode 2i connected to my tv through an optical cable.
I am adding 2 pulse flex 2i for my rears.
Is it worth swapping the current optical connection to an hdmi e-arc? Will it give me anything better in the terms of quality (dolby atmos for example) or will it just be exactly the same with standard 5.1 (well 4.1 as no centre channel)?
Thanks

Hi Jim,
Please note that the Optical Input on the Powernode 2i (with HDMI) will only support PCM/PCM Stereo (i.e. 2-channel audio) OR Dolby Digital Surround content. That is if the Powernode 2i (with HDMI specifically), is paired with two Pulse Flex/2i acting as the rear channels in a Home Theatre Group. In addition, you can control the volume using the TV remote through the HDMI cec.Hope this helps and thanks for #LivingHiFi
